Describe someone you would like to study or work with | Bài mẫu IELTS Speaking Part 2 + 3
Well I would like to talk about Huyen, one of my friends whose company I really enjoy.
Speaking of how long I have known this person, we’ve been classmates since highschool. She sat next to me for over four years, and so it is fair to say we know each other quite well. Although she is a devil in disguise, there are many reasons why I like to have her around.
For one thing, she is the most talkative person I know who is capable of talking nonstop for hours. She often bothered me with her endless stories during our lessons and often got us scolded by our teachers. Because most of her stories were funny, I could not stop myself from laughing and talking with her. Now each of us are busy with our work, so we could only hang out on the weekend in a small café on Hoang Cau street. But every time we meet, it feels like we lost touch for 10 years as she would keep on updating me stories about her life even with or without my consent. Luckily with an introverted personality, I am quite a good listener and had no problem with that. I guess we make a perfect team.
I would like to talk about one of the colleagues who I really enjoy working with. His name is Duy. I have been working with him for 2 years and during this time I have always found him to be very talented, focused and deadline oriented co-workers. With him, all of my assignments and tasks were completed with perfect harmony and time.
Although we don’t work in the same office, we are often assigned to the same project, we work a whale of time together.
In the office, we mostly spend our time like two good colleagues and besides this, he has become a good friend of mine. We often go to the lake which is near our company to have some fresh air, we go to a restaurant to have our lunch and sometimes we have some meet- ups. In the office, we often discuss the tasks and share our opinion on how to solve an emerging issue.
I like to work with him mostly because of his pro-activeness and talent. He is a very good problem solver and always shows a professional and positive attitude to address a solution. He is a good team member and can work really hard to solve a problem. Apart from those qualities, he is a good listener and knows when to talk and when to remain silent. These are some great and exemplary qualities someone would seek from a team member and because of all these good qualities I enjoy and like to work with him.
Reaching adulthood has never been easy, as you have to take a great deal of responsibilities at work, but I’m lucky enough to be accompanied by Mr. Wilson, whom I not only view as a boss, but also my life mentor. He also is the person I’ve always looked up to and enjoyed working with.
Mr. Wilson, who is now in his late 30s, has always been my leader since day one. At first I was worried because he was being a cold fish, but as I worked with him, I realized there was so much more behind that fierce look.
I believe the inability to make a decision or letting decision making drag on and on is a trait of a poor boss. On the contrary, Mr. Wilson is very decisive and hardly ever gets caught up in analysis paralysis. The man often puts forth solutions with speed and conviction, which might not always be the most judicious decisions, but he’s surely able to keep the organization moving forward. But for his assertiveness and quick-wittedness, our team wouldn’t have sailed through the most challenging projects in the past 3 years.
But what I truly love about working with Mr. Wilson is how he shows his compassion towards his employees. A great boss, in my opinion, should be confident enough to show his human side, to make people respect him as a mentor rather than someone who is taking advantage of others for his own good. Despite being up to ears with work, Mr. Wilson would stop by, say hello and take a personal interest in his employees’ lives, and he wouldn’t miss an opportunity to give a pat on their backs when the subordinates are showing great efforts. Working with such a supportive and caring leader makes me feel valued, less stressed and thus having higher work output.
Ever since I worked with him, I have unleashed many of my potentials, you know, to become a better version of myself every day. I’m grateful to have the chance to team up with him and to learn from him. Hopefully I will be able to perform that well if I ever become a leader in the future.
Gợi ý: giỏi, nhiều kiến thức (knowledgeable), kinh nghiệm thực tế (hands-on experience), sẵn sàng chia sẻ, hợp tác (co-operative), vui vẻ, hoà đồng.
I guess it depends on each person’s preferences. Personally, I do not want to work with people who have a lot of knowledge or experience but refuse to share it. Rather, I would love to work with a co-operative partner who is willing to work as a team and is not afraid of receiving constructive criticism.
Gợi ý:
Although acquiring different work-related skills will help you improve career prospects, I believe recognition from your boss is always more important. It directly affects your job satisfaction, which has a positive relationship with work efficiency. Also, since appreciative leaders are appreciated leaders, employees of such leaders will be more willing to stick around and commit to the company.
Gợi ý:
Yes and no. A boss should care and sympathize with each employee to make them feel taken care of on a personal level, which could become a great motivation and improve morale. However, they should also know how to draw a line between themselves and their subordinates, not only to stay professional but also to avoid bias treatment.
