The pervasiveness of mobile phones in public space has divided people over whether their use should be restricted in the same way smoking is. While there are some similarities between these activities, a ban on mobile phone use is not a convincing solution in my opinion.
On the one hand, there are reasons to support banning cell phones in certain places. Primarily, many users are often glued to their phone screens for hours on end, so these devices can be just as addictive as cigarettes are. Minors are most vulnerable to phone addiction, because the distracting visual elements on an electronic display cripples their concentration, in addition to straining their eyesight. Both smoking and using phones, furthermore, possess health risks. For smokers, they expose themselves and nearby people to various respiratory illnesses, whereas mobile phone users frequently come into contact with electromagnetic radiation from the device. Banning phones, at least in public space, would therefore seem helpful in averting several dangers.
On the other hand, it is not always appropriate to prohibit people from utilizing their cellular devices. Firstly, mobile phones have uses, as opposed to cigarettes, which are strictly consumables. People such as entrepreneurs and managers rely on their phones for work, so banning them from doing so would be unreasonable. Claims about mobile phones’ health risk, moreover, are nebulous at best and otherwise unfounded. This is evident in the fact that since they were invented, no outbreaks of health issues caused by cellular devices have been recorded. Meanwhile, many studies into the possible health implications of mobile phone usage have failed to produce conclusive findings. Taking these points into account, there is little basis left to justify prohibiting cell phones.
In my opinion, while both smoking and using a mobile phone can provoke displeasure in nearby people, it is hardly warranted to ban the latter. It may, instead, be more effective to educate users how to use their gadgets responsibly.

Bài mẫu
It has been claimed that, like smoking, mobile phones should be banned in some places due to their harmful effects. While I accept that the use of mobile phones is antisocial in some ways, I believe it has more benefits and therefore, should not be prohibited.
On the one hand, I agree that the use of mobile phones can sometimes be antisocial. Firstly, these devices might disturb people’s work or study in some cases. For example, the sound of a mobile phone can interrupt a lecture, which affects the concentration of students. Secondly, the use of mobile phones also adversely impacts communication between people. Since individuals currently tend to spend too much time using mobile phones, they seem to have less time to interact with others.
On the other hand, I disagree that mobile phones should be banned because of certain reasons. The first one is that since they allow people who live far away from each other to speak or send messages, they help people keep in touch more easily. For instance, students who study abroad can use mobile phones to make phone calls or even video calls with their families. The second reason is that mobile phones often provide users with many useful applications such as maps and weather forecasts, which can make people’s lives become easier. Additionally, using mobile phones is not as bad as smoking as some people think. While smoking directly affects people’s health and leads to health problems, the negative influences of mobile phones are less serious.
In conclusion, while I agree that mobile phones are sometimes antisocial, I believe they should not be banned.
