DFM

• Drive Design for Manufacturing and Design for Reliability reviews of NPI products/concepts at CM and lead activities to optimize product and process designs.
• Make recommendations for product/process design changes & final assembly standards/limits that have direct impact to final product cost, quality and delivery.
• Standardize/Modularize SMT&FATP assembly equipment/stations ensuring all critical closed loop process controls are in place.
• Study existing processes, equipment and fixtures. Find ways to improve by means of product or process redesign.
  
  

FMEA

• Use FMEAs to define requirements for process design, equipment & fixtures including all critical process controls.
• Perform FMEA and Control Plan reviews of each fixture, equipment and process step, identify all potential failure modes and process risks and drive mitigation steps with Contract Manufacturer and Product Design teams.
  
  

Drive Improvement

• Uncover and highlight Manufacturing/Assembly/Test issues to ensure established direct labor, throughput, product quality and yield levels which affect bottom line MVA are optimized at the start of production.
• Interface with Contract Manufacturers Factory team to improve cycle times, UPH, process/product yield, product quality/reliability and drive cost reductions.
  
  

Factory Deliverables

• Own content and ok2publish of SOP
• Qualification of all production processes for SMT, assembly and packout including fixtures, automation machines, dispensing, thermal curing
• Identification and execution of production improvements to reduce failures, cycle-time, touch-time, and/or quality escapes.
• Daily communication for NPI project status
• Conduct DOE for identifying RCCA for SMT, assembly and packout related issues.
• Tier1 contact person at factory for all things assembly related.
• Responsible for implementation and documentation of production line process SOP.
• Support Engineering team on trial builds for new program.
• Yield attack for any process related contributors
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering or related degree
• 8+ years of relevant experience in consumer electronics manufacturing
• Well-versed in production factory Final Assembly, Test, and Pack-out (FATP)
• Natural bias towards documentation; use of defect tracking systems (Jira) and document control (Arena)
• Proven track record of delivering parts for production on time to/from overseas vendors
• Exceptional communication skills - verbal, written and technical communication in English and Vietnamese required;
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• MS Mechanical Engineering or related degree
• 10+ years of relevant experience in consumer electronics manufacturing
• Well-versed in production factory Final Assembly, Test, and Pack-out (FATP)
• Natural bias towards documentation; use of defect tracking systems (Jira) and document control (Arena)
• Proven track record of delivering parts for production on time to/from overseas vendors
• Exceptional communication skills - verbal, written and technical communication in English and Vietnamese required; Mandarin a plus
