Allow | Định nghĩa, cấu trúc và bài tập vận dụng
Allow mang nghĩa là cho phép, chấp nhận, thừa nhận. Cấu trúc Allow được sử dụng khi:
Allow có nhiều cấu trúc khác nhau, vì thế bạn cần biết cách sử dụng phù hợp cho tùy thuộc theo từng ngữ cảnh. Hãy cùng xem các cấu trúc Alow + gì dưới đây nhé!
Cấu trúc Allow Sb được dùng để diễn tả sự cho phép một ai đó được làm việc gì. Khi ở dạng câu phủ thì định ta thêm doesn’t hoặc don’t vào đằng sau chủ ngữ và ngay trước Allow.
Chú ý: Bạn cần sử dụng động từ nguyên mẫu có “to” ngay sau cấu trúc Allow trong câu. Ví dụ:
Jenny’s mother allows her to go camping tomorrow. (Mẹ của Jenny đã đồng ý cho cô ấy đi cắm trại vào ngày mai).
John’s father doesn’t allow him to go out with his best friend. (Bố của John không đồng ý cho anh ấy ra ngoài cùng bạn thân của anh ta).
Cấu trúc Allow này nhằm diễn tả việc người nào đó chấp nhận cái gì, người nào hay điều gì đó. Ví dụ:
Peter allows for me to join his team. (Peter cho phép tôi tham gia vào nhóm của anh ấy).
This restaurant don’t allow for customer to smoke. (Nhà hàng này không cho phép khách hàng hút thuốc.)
Cấu trúc Allow trong trường hợp này được sử dụng khi muốn mô tả sự cho phép của ai đó vào đâu/rời đi/đứng dậy làm việc gì đó. Ví dụ:
Our teachers allow us up to answer the question. (Giáo viên của chúng tôi cho phép chúng tôi đứng lên trả lời câu hỏi).
The hospital doesn’t allow the patient’s family in the emergency room. (Bệnh viện không phép cho người nhà bệnh nhân vào trong phòng cấp cứu.)
Anna’s father allows her out with friends at night. (Bố của Anna cho phép cô ấy ra ngoài với các bạn vào buổi tối.)
Cấu trúc Allow trên được dùng để bạn diễn tả sự cho phép, chấp nhận hay nhường chỗ cho cái gì đó. Ví dụ:
This road’s rule allows of drive at hight speed. (Quy tắc của con đường này cho phép lái xe tốc độ cao.)
This exercise allows of only one option. (Bài tập này chỉ cho phép một phương án.)
Chú ý: Ở tất cả các cấu trúc trên, động từ Allow được chia tùy theo thời thời và chủ ngữ trong câu.
Câu bị động dùng với cấu trúc Allow mang ý nghĩa là ai/cái gì được cho phép hoặc chấp nhận làm gì. Trong câu bị động, cấu trúc Allow được sử dụng với công thức sau:

Ví dụ:
Jenny is allowed to drive the car by her father. (Jenny được cho phép lái xe ô tô bởi bố cô ấy.)
Peter is allowed to enter the hospital room to visit his grandfather by the doctor. (Peter được sự cho phép bởi bác sĩ để vào phòng bệnh viện thăm bà.)

Permit mang ý nghĩa trang trọng hơn Allow. Permit không đi cùng với trạng từ. Các cấu trúc bị động sử dụng “it” thì chỉ được phép dùng “permit”. |

| Advise | Động từ Advise diễn tả hành động khuyên bảo ai đó nên làm gì hay đưa ra quyết định gì. Người đưa ra lời khuyên phải là người có có kinh nghiệm và trình độ chuyên môn liên quan đến việc đề cập. |
