Grammar point

• Sử dụng thì hiện tại đơn. Tuy nhiên bạn có thể dùng cấu trúc “used to” để miêu tả thói quen trong quá khứ: She used to be a TV show host.
• Sử dụng thời hoàn thành: I’ve been an admired of her for many years.

• Sử dụng cấu trúc “would/could/might”: If I met her I would like to have dinner with her.

2. Dàn ý, bố cục bài

• Phần 1: Phần mở đầu. Ở trong phần này các bạn sẽ giới thiệu sơ qua các thông tin cơ bản về người khiến bạn ngưỡng mộ.
• Phần 2: Nội dung chính. Tới phần này các bạn mới bắt đầu chia sẻ chi tiết về người đó, lý do tại sao bạn ngưỡng mộ họ.
• Phần 3: Tổng kết: Tại phần cuối này các bạn sẽ nói ngắn gọn suy nghĩ cảm nhận của bản thân về họ.

Với mỗi đề bài và Cue Card khác nhau trong phần Speaking mà giám khảo đưa ra, thì sẽ có đôi chút linh hoạt về phần nội dung cần được triển khai để đưa vào bài nói của mình. Một số nội dung mà các bạn có thể đưa vào bài Talk about a person you admire trong IELTS Speaking bao gồm:

3. Bài mẫu

Mẫu 1

If you ask me who has been the greatest admiration to me, I will say Taylor Swift. She is a famous American singer, songwriter and actress. She began her career when she was 14 years old. Until she was 18, she wrote a song called “Love story” and it’s widespread to all the people, especially who are interested in music. I knew her from that and became her fan ever since.

In terms of her personality, I would say that she is extremely benevolent, sensible and assertive. And all of that makes her bright and shine at any events and become the life and soul at the party.

What makes Taylor unique is the way she expresses every emotion into words, telling her own story about her own life, so people can empathize with her feelings sometimes, especially when they are in the same situation because her songs are not just about love but also about worst times, politics, friends, equality.

To be honest, I feel that Taylor and I sometimes have the same circumstances. For example, when she had ups and downs because of dramas and released an album about that, I put myself in her shoes too. So her songs are like mental medicine for me.

I admire her optimism, the way she rose from the death of her reputation, the way she cares about people. To be honest, when I’m in a down mood, just listening to her songs and thinking about her, I lifted up my spirit and looked on the bright side of things. I am so proud to be her fan and I would say that she is too good to be true.

The celebrity whom I would like to meet in person is definitely David Bekham. David was a professional English footballer who played for the world’s most renowned football clubs such as Manchester United and Real Madrid. He was named in the list of 100 greatest living football players of FIFA back in 2004.

Besides his career as a sportsman, David is also famous for his marriage to Victoria Beckham, an equally successful model, singer and fashion designer, with four children. This has been considered one of the happiest celebrity marriages and partnerships.

David Beckham is my biggest idol not only because of his legendary football skills but also because he is very modest and kind as a person. He was seen offering a hand to a photographer who fell while trying to photograph him. Also, according to his wife, David Beckham is a devoted husband and father who always puts his family first.

If I ever had a chance, I would take David Beckham to my favorite restaurants in Hanoi and introduce Vietnamese food to him. Of course I would take pictures with him too, to post on my facebook wall but the most important thing would be for me to talk with him, learn from him and be inspired by this man.

Mẫu 3

I am going to talk about Adele. She is a famous singer and songwriter. Recently she has released her fourth album, “30”. This album is successful in many countries and I really love it. 

I have known Adele since her debut album, “19”. It came out over a decade ago. Back then, as a student, I thought her lyrics were too complicated, but I was impressed with her voice and her performance. I guessed this woman would become one of the most well-known artists in the future. Now I know I was so right.

To be honest, I did not listen to her very often in the past. I just started to listen more these days. I think I am getting older, so it is easier to understand what she sings. Also, I know she is an introvert. She doesn’t like people to know much about her private life. So I was shocked when she wrote an album about her divorce. The album I am talking about is “30”.

People say “30” is famous for its honesty and sadness. But I don’t think so. I believe “30” represents bravery when Adele dares to share her truth and turns her sad stories into hope. The last song on the album is about self-love. I agree with Adele. Self-love is important and everyone should come to realize this. I can listen to this album again and again as I can find so many meaningful messages in it.

Để có thật nhiều ý tưởng khi nói, bạn hãy cố gắng brainstorm trong đầu các câu hỏi (bắt đầu với What, Who, When, Where, How,…) mà bạn có thể nghĩ ra liên quan tới chủ đề này nhiều nhất có thể và lần lượt trả lời chúng, đây là cách hiệu quả và nhanh nhất khi được cho 1 phút chuẩn bị trước khi bắt đầu. • How they make influence you/your life? (Họ ảnh hưởng đến bạn/cuộc sống của bạn như thế nào?)

Bên cạnh đó, cần chú ý thêm một vài điểm sau:

• Câu trả lời phải liên quan tới câu hỏi, tốt nhất nên bám vào các Cue Card để tránh nói dài, nói lan man
• Nghĩ ngay đến các từ/cụm từ đồng nghĩa hoặc liên quan xuất hiện trong Cue Card để có thật nhiều từ vựng, ý tưởng, tránh lặp từ.
• Sử dụng các cụm từ sau trong bài nói sẽ giúp bài nói thêm rõ ràng, mạch lạc:

– giới thiệu (what I’m going to talk about is…)

– triển khai các ý (first of all, secondly,..)

– các cụm về mốc thời gian kể chuyện (at that time,…)

– sự ấn tượng (… impressed me)

– điều làm bạn thích (I enjoy…)
