- Design and conduct research programs that apply electrical and materials knowledge to evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications.

- Research customer requirements to develop electrical products; Research and test manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
- Design and adapt equipment for developing and assembling components.
- Develop test methods to ensure power system quality and capacity.
- Collect, analyze and synthesize information and trends for product reporting.
- Respond to requests and inquiries for technical information.
- Train and guide other technical staff to complete the project.
