Job Description

What will you work on?

Complete the model / prototypes building on time and in good quality with clear understanding of the requirements.

How will you create impact?

• Build models from engineer drawing using plastic, metal, composite material
• Create machine parts by using of lathes, mills, drills, grinders and all shop equipment, including knowledge of safety procedures.
• Read blueprints, calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of math and instruments such as calipers, micrometers.
• Communicates design-related concerns and issues to engineers and suggest alternate production methods, materials, or cuts that may be more feasible, but still fulfill the functionality requirements with highest quality.
• Teach and coach Assistant Model Maker / Apprentice demonstrate on working self-discipline;
• Lead a team of Assistant Model Maker/ Apprentice to complete the model building on time and in good quality with clear understanding of the requirements;
• Perform duties assigned by Model Shop Supervisor
  
  

What are your skills and experience?

• Graduated from an intermediate level or higher in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical manufacturing or 5 years experience in model making;
• Experience in making tooth box, propeller, foam processing etc.
• Familiar with Mechanical Machinery: Mills, Lathes, Drill, Grinder, Polishing…
• Able to operate CNC machines is an advantage.
• Visualisation and scale to idea and read sketch.
• Creativity and attention to detail.
• Good in hand-make.
