JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report directly to General Manager
- Provides a professional, advisory support service to the General Manager
- Develop and set revenue sales and marketing strategies for the hotel to ensure plans are implemented, results are monitored and sales goals are achieved.
- Regularly sell hotel rooms, meeting rooms, and food and beverage outlets
- Coordinate all methods of maintaining and increasing business volume. This includes advertising, sales promotion, personal selling, publicity, community relations, special sales projects, etc.
- Enhance the image of the hotel in the local community and internationally
- Review regularly the Public Relations activities to ensure high awareness of the Japanese hotel in the local and national media
- Participate as an active member of the community through associations, memberships and other trade organizations
- Review regularly activity reports of sales personnel to ensure targets and sales objectives are being met
- Review regularly internal promotion pieces for visual effect and ensure they conform with brand standards
- Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget, the hotel marketing plan and business plan, and financial plans
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts and budget proposals to senior management
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop integrated marketing and sales campaigns, promotional initiatives and branding strategies
- Create and implement sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase volume, food and beverage and banquet sales
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts in order to produce group and/or convention business, to include room sales, food & beverage sales, and catering/banquet services
- Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyze current/potential market and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan
- Manage everyday activities, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers
- Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognize good performance
- Train colleagues to make sure they deliver with compliance and to the standards we expect and have the tools they need to work efficiently
- Recommend or initiate any HR elated actions where needed
- Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive – connect departments to create sense of one team
- Identify improvements to marketing activities and overall hotel sales performance and work with other departments
- Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the management from time to time
- Perform other duties out of the normal routine if so required.

- Work 8 hours/day, admin time, 1.5 day off/week
- Monthly salary and bonus 13th month salary at year end guarantee and more (depends on business situation)

- Educational Level: A Bachelor Degree or higher in Hotel Management or equivalent education / experience required
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English
- Skills: Excellent spoken, written English and second language desired. Writing skills: Able to write business communication, reports and proposals. Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Opera, Outlook
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 4 years’ experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting with direct supervisory experience over a sales team
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess good sales techniques and negotiation skills
- Be passionate and have the drive and determination to meet/exceed set goals
- Possess customer-handling techniques
- Able to react fast but calmly in the midst of any co-ordination problems.
- Must possess a patient, pleasant personality.
- Comfortable in dealing with all levels of people.
- Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of the city and market segmentation for business.
- Maintain a high level of output and quality regardless of the task load.
- Take initiative and act quickly to deliver projects in a professional manner.
- Take action to ensure overall success of department / organization.
- Present one-self in an appropriate manner i.e. dress code and personal hygiene.
