Responsibilities

• Service Management
• Manage and maintain horizontal services primarily written in Go and Java.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure high availability and reliability of critical services, responding to incidents when they arise.
• Implement strategies for handling outages and minimizing downtime.
• Infrastructure and Automation
• Use and maintain infrastructure-as-code tools, including [Terraform, Terragrunt], to provision and manage resources (experience is a plus but not required).
• Automate manual processes to improve infrastructure efficiency and reduce operational workload.
• Monitoring, Metrics, and Alerting
• Develop, maintain, and improve monitoring, metrics, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of services.
• Implement and fine-tune dashboards to provide visibility into system performance and operational metrics.
• Collaborate with development teams to define and implement any metrics or monitoring stack that is required.
• Collaboration and Communication
• Collaborate closely with development and operations teams to design, deploy, and maintain production systems.
• Document processes, systems, and solutions to ensure knowledge sharing and provide training for other team members.
• Participate in regular reviews and audits of systems to ensure adherence to best practices in reliability and security.
  
  

Requirements

• Experience with services written in Go and Java.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
• Experience with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong in problem-solving, cross-functional communication
• In love with improving infrastructure reliability and system performance.
  
  

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
