Position Objective
The Events & Community Outreach Manager leads and manages
● school -wide internal and external events
● external community outreach initiatives for ISHCMC
● education and engaging programming at ISHCMC for our community, faculty and staff, and parents.

The Events & Community Outreach Manager ensures that community engagement opportunities are aligned, relevant and consistent to ISHCMC values.

As part of the Community & Global Engagement team the successful candidate will carry the school’s voice and work closely with the ISHCMC communications team to ensure that events are clearly communicated

Responsibilities

Events Management

● Build an annual calendar of daily, weekly, monthly and one-off events, programs and experiences in partnership with community organizations and stakeholders
● Create event management / operational plans for whole school events based on timelines, budget and school need
● Manage the school events calendar to ensure alignment between departments and a balanced programme
● Conduct market research for sourcing and information gathering
● Proactive approach to handling issues and troubleshooting any emerging problems
● Identify event opportunities, understand the market, and generate interest
● Articulately propose ideas to improve services and event quality
● Collaborate with facilities and oversee all event details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment
● Commit to compliance with safeguarding, insurance, legal, health and safety obligations for all events
● Enthusiasm regarding collaborative work with Communications to promote, publicize and drive attendance to events
● Provide feedback, clear reporting to stakeholders upon requests
Community Network & Partnership Building
● The successful candidate will strengthen and continue to build on ISHCMC’s current network and develop new community partnerships
● Build and develop long-term partnerships with community groups which support effective outreach and engagement.
● Ensure community outreach engagement initiatives align with ISHCMC Mission & Vision
● Identify events and opportunities within the ISHCMC network that may be relevant to the ISHCMC community
● Establish strong relationships with community partners and members to promote collaboration and ensure a clear flow of communication among internal and external stakeholders.
● Participate as a member on committees within ISHCMC network and Community
Program Development
● Develop and deliver the ISHCMC Speaker Series, Rhino Adult Education Hub and Workshop Series
● Develop and deliver programming content that engages our ISHCMC Community and parents
● Ensure programmes are clearly documented in management/operational plans to ensure sustainability
● Ensure that education programs and topics reflect community needs and interests
● Source experts and speakers from a wide variety of topics that are relevant and engaging to the ISHCMC Community
Community & Global Engagement
● Assist and participate in activities, projects, and/or events at ISHCMC
● Collaborate with PTO and community groups to provide effective programming
● Submit weekly reporting and information of activities to reporting manager
● Support the PTO team by staying connected with a variety of members of the community to build rapport, get feedback and implement communication strategies
● Lead the Community Engagement function to provide exceptional community and customer experience to ultimately drive retention of students and increased advocacy of the school.
● Performs other tasks as requested by direct report.

Communications & Customer Service
● Contribute to high quality content derived from Events and Community Outreach in alignment with the School’s vision and values.
● Provide relevant content to the Communications team in regards to events and news pertaining to ISHCMC communities
● Work closely with other departments/peers to develop, coordinate and maintain high levels of communication within the Community, excellence in the delivery of services
● Foster and engage current ISHCMC network and community and continue to provide excellent customer service

The job responsibilities are open to change based on the needs of the School and other duties as assigned by the HoS.

The job holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young person’s for whom s/he is responsible, or with whom s/he comes into contact will be to adhered to and ensure compliance with the relevant Cognita Safeguarding; Child Protection Policy and Procedures at all times. If in the course of carrying out the duties of the role, the job holder identifies any instance that a child is suffering or likely to suffer significant harm either at school or at home, s/he must report any concerns to the School’s Designated Safeguarding Lead or to the Head or indeed to the Cognita Regional Safeguarding Manager so that a referral can be made accordingly to the relevant third party services

● This role requires an individual with more than 5 years school or corporate level communications/ public relations experience who has knowledge in message development and execution gained in an environment where they have worked across multiple channels with multiple audiences.
● Highly organized and possesses effective time management skills. A self-starter who is a quick study and can take ownership of determined tasks and deliver them to high standards
● Strong communicator with excellent customer service experience and problem-solving skills
● Ability to be empathetic with a school community to build strong relationships and tap into the needs of parents so that communications are relevant and impactful.
● A committed and loyal individual, who is prepared to work the necessary hours to meet deadlines
● Patient and thoughtful mentor to a team of direct reports with a collaborative style

Qualifications:
● Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Education, Public Relations and/or related fields
● Possess 3-5 years experience working within an International School setting
● Possess 3-5 years of professional experience in community development and related experience in the education field
● Advanced English language skills (reading, writing and verbal).
● Ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure.
● Possess strong customer service, verbal communication and listening skills.
