About the Department
The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.
Job Objectives
Server & Storage Engineer will be responsible for implementing, maintaining essential physical servers, SAN storage, NAS storage, Backup Storage, VMware Virtual Machines, Operational system such as Microsoft Window server, RedHat to ensure optimal performance and availability of IT operations within the bank.
Job Summary:
Server & Storage Engineer will be responsible for implementing, maintaining essential physical servers, SAN storage, NAS storage, Backup Storage, VMware Virtual Machines, Operational system such as Microsoft Window server, RedHat to ensure optimal performance and availability of IT operations within the bank.
Key Responsibilities:
• Installing, configurating and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter), SAN, Net Backup, NAS.
• Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues on Servers, Workstations, Printers and Network Devices.
• Maintaining inventory of all hardware and software assets used by the Bank.
• Implementing technologies which enhance the reliability, efficiency and security of the IT Infrastructure.
• Monitoring of critical production services to minimize downtime and proactively identify potential failures.
• Work with relevant parties and provide/implement IT infrastructure architect in IT projects.
• Follow up with relevant team and provide update/report for IT Infrastructure related matters.
• Managing vendor relationships for support and upgrades of IT infrastructure components.
• Adherence to the Bank's policies, procedures and processes relating to IT operations.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team.
• Leading local Sever and storage portions in Regional DR and local DR exercise.
• Manage and apply server, storage, OS patching for VA.Job Requirements
• English proficiency.
• University degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience working with Server, Storage, VMware, Windows Servers (2012R2, 2016, 2019) and Linux Servers (RedHat).
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technology - VMware vSphere.
• Good understanding of Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS).
• Experience with backup solutions - VERITAS NetBackup.
• Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy management.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
