Role Summary:

As a QA Lead/QA Manager at GFT, you will be at the forefront of our quality assurance strategy, driving the quality and reliability of our software products. You will lead a team of QA engineers, mentor them in best practices, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards. This role is crucial in overseeing the entire QA process, from planning and execution to delivering comprehensive test strategies and frameworks.

Key Activities:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence. Develop and implement QA strategies, test plans, and processes that align with our business goals.

  • Automation & Testing Frameworks: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of automation frameworks for API, performance, mobile, and web testing. Ensure the team utilizes best practices and cutting-edge tools.

  • Test Planning & Execution: Plan, design, and execute comprehensive test strategies, including API, UI, performance, and mobile testing. Ensure thorough validation of software products, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks.

  • Quality Assurance Governance: Establish and maintain QA standards, metrics, and best practices to ensure the highest level of software quality. Drive continuous improvements in the QA process and ensure adherence to industry standards.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Development, Product Management, and Operations, to define requirements, develop test cases, and ensure seamless integration of QA efforts.

  • Defect Management: Lead the defect management process, including the detection, tracking, and validation of defects. Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution and validation of fixes.

  • Continuous Improvement: Champion initiatives for process improvement, automation, and efficiency in the QA process. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and tools to continuously enhance the QA function.

  • Reporting & Documentation: Provide regular updates to senior management on QA progress, including key metrics, risk assessments, and quality outcomes. Ensure comprehensive documentation of test plans, cases, scenarios, and results.

Required Skills:

Required Education & Experience

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in QA, with a minimum of 4 years in a leadership or managerial role.
    • Proven track record in leading QA teams and delivering high-quality software products.
    • Extensive experience in automated testing, with hands-on experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks.
    • Strong background in API testing, performance testing, and mobile automation testing.
    • Experience in the financial, banking or insurance industry is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Automation Tools: Proficient in Cypress, Appium, Selenium, JUNIT, and other leading automation tools.
  • Programming Languages: Strong coding skills in Java and JavaScript, with experience in test automation.
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Expertise in GIT, Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipeline management.
  • Test Frameworks: In-depth knowledge of BDD/TDD frameworks like Cucumber, JBehave, or equivalent.
  • Performance Testing: Experience in performance testing tools and methodologies to assess application scalability and stability.
  • Database & Unix: Proficient in developing complex SQL queries and working within Unix/Linux environments.
  • Web Services: Hands-on experience with SOAP UI, REST API testing, and web service validation.

Non-Technical Skills:

  • Leadership & Mentoring: Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with strong mentoring skills to guide team members towards excellence.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects and delivering high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
  • Agility: Comfortable working in Agile environments, with a strong understanding of SDLC and STLC practices
