Trong tiếng Anh, Regret vừa có thể là danh từ, vừa có thể là động từ. Khi là danh từ, cấu trúc Regret mang nghĩa là “sự hối hận, sự hối tiếc”. Khi Regret là động từ, nó có nghĩa là “cảm thấy hối tiếc, cảm thấy hối hận” về một sự việc nào đó đã thực hiện trong quá khứ.

Vậy cấu trúc Regret + gì? Có hai dạng cấu trúc Regret chính, đó là Regret + to V và Regret +Ving. Sau đây, hãy cùng 1900 tìm hiểu kỹ về hai cấu trúc Regret này nhé!
Cấu trúc Regret này được sử dụng khi bạn muốn thể hiện về sự hối hận do chưa làm hay không làm một điều gì đó. Ngoài ra cũng thể hiện người nói muốn lấy làm tiếc để thông báo một sự việc nào đó.
Công thức:

Ví dụ:
Cấu trúc Regret + Ving được dùng khi người nói muốn mô tả sự hối hận của mình về một việc nào đó đã thực hiện hoặc một việc đã xảy ra trong thời gian ở quá khứ.

Khi tìm hiểu về cấu trúc Regret, không ít người học tiếng Anh bị nhầm lẫn cấu trúc này với cấu trúc Remember và cấu trúc Forget. Ba cấu trúc này có ý nghĩa khác nhau nhưng lại có cấu trúc khá tương đồng.
