1. Planning and Preparation:
Analyze requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to understand testing scope
Create comprehensive test plans and test strategies for assigned features
Identify test scenarios and edge cases based on business requirements
Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to clarify requirements
Estimate testing effort and provide input for sprint planning
Set up test environments and prepare test data as needed
2. Design and Execution:
Design detailed test cases covering functional, usability, and boundary testing
Execute manual test cases systematically and document results accurately
Perform exploratory testing to uncover unexpected issues
Conduct cross-browser and cross-platform testing when applicable
Execute regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains intact
Validate user workflows and business processes end-to-end
3. Data and Integration Testing:
Test API endpoints and data exchanges between integrated systems
Validate data migration and transformation processes
Perform database queries to verify backend data accuracy
Test third-party integrations and external service connections
Ensure data consistency across multiple environments
4. Defect Management & Reporting:
Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps
Classify defects by severity and priority in collaboration with development team
Create detailed bug reports with screenshots, logs, and environment details
Verify bug fixes and perform re-testing as needed
Maintain defect metrics and provide regular status updates
Generate comprehensive test execution reports and coverage metrics
5. Continuous Improvement & Collaboration:
Participate in retrospectives and suggest process improvements
Share knowledge and mentor other team members
Stay updated with industry best practices and testing methodologies
Collaborate effectively with developers, product managers, and stakeholders
Contribute to test documentation and knowledge base maintenance
Identify opportunities for test optimization and efficiency improvements
6. Preffered Qualifications (plus):
Hands-on experience with automation testing tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.)
Knowledge of API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured)
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git)
Experience with performance testing concepts
ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent
Basic programming knowledge in any language (Java, Python, JavaScript)1. Education Background:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
2. Professional experience:
1-3 years of experience in manual software testing
Experience mentoring junior testers or collaborating with cross-functional Agile teams is a plus.
Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
Experience with test case design techniques (boundary value, equivalence partitioning, etc.)
Proficiency in defect tracking tools (Jira or similar)
Knowledge of SQL for database testing
Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript basics)
Automation-oriented mindset: ability to think systematically about repetitive tasks and identify automation opportunities
Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking
Strong communication skills and ability to work in an Agile environment

Proficient in tools like Jira, Confluence
