Position Context:

The lead Engineer for Safety and Homologation Testing in Asia/US region will be the central figure to manage and track the test execution related to vehicle safety and homologation, interacting with the external testing supplier onsite in the European Region.

Position Responsibilities:

• Be the central figure to interact with the testing supplier and to manage any requirement related to the testing activities related to Safety or Homologation.
• Ensure vehicle preparation, aligning with Function Owner, to warrantee that SW and HW content corresponds with the requirements for the testing
• Lead the coordination of any special logistic requirement involving parts or vehicles for the test purpose.
• Lead test set up, aligning with Function Owner.
• Work together with EE Flying Doctors, mechanical retrofit team and other working partners, to ensure the vehicle readiness before the test and the reaction to possible issues during the test
• Participate, if required, in the testing activity, enabling an onsite assessment of the test performance
• Conduct the preliminary assessment of the testing results and trigger the investigation and root-cause-analysis in case

Position Requirements:

Education/ Professional knowledge: Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineer or equivalent work experience (5+ years) with solid knowledge in vehicle safety and vehicle regulations

Skill, Experience:

• Solid experience in vehicle regulations and the respective requirements for the testing activities.
• Solid experience in Vehicle Safety testing and testing protocols, including regulatory and NCAP cases.
• Previous work and solid network with Chinesse testing suppliers
• Hands-on experience and skills to retrofit exterior/interior parts of the vehicle.
• Coordination skills, autonomous decision making.

Other requirements (if need):

• Working base in China/US
• Flexibility to travel to other homologation suppliers
• Experience on engineering fundamentals of Electric Vehicle systems (EVs)
• Skilled for Problem solving, analytical thinking and presenting result-oriented behavior
• Attention to detail and able to manage more than one task at a time.
• Assertive and presenting very good analytical skills.
• Discretion in dealing with confidential/sensitive information.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
