About The Team

The Product Development team in Vietnam focus on solving immediate needs of Shopee for Vietnam market in 3 main categories: Operation, Engagement, and Partnership.

Our scope consists of products in various sizes and complexity levels, serving both internal users (Shopee staffs) as well as external users (our buyers, sellers, brands and partners).

As a member in the team, you'll be part of an Agile team targeting at a specific category to develop impactful tools / features to accelerate business goals in that area.

Job Description

Design and develop robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems
Analyze requirements, design and develop functionalities based on the product requirements;
Understand the product thoroughly, constantly optimize the product, identify and fix problems, improve stability and user experience;
Collaborate with other software engineers, product managers, user experience designers, and operations engineers to build the product.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using best software development practices.
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
Work with database technologies to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of data.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for backend-related issues.
Optimize and improve existing backend systems for better performance.
Implement and maintain APIs for seamless integration with front-end applications.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related fields.
Relevant experience in backend / server-side development.
Familiar with commonly used languages, such as Golang / Python.
Familiar with one of these stacks: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
Passionate about coding and programming, innovation, and solving challenging problems.
Experience in managing tasks, schedules, and conducting unit testing.
Understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms, operating systems, networks, databases…
Familiar with common network protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP) and network programming.

Nice-to-have

Experience in web technologies and security.
Experience with distributed systems, performance tuning, handling massive concurrency, and caching mechanisms.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitlabCI, or Github actions
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD for containerization and deployment.
Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Understanding of how machine learning models can be integrated into backend systems.
Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub profile.
