About The Role
- Assess and analyse vendors’ engineering capability conduct engineering capability development and training plan.
- Maintain and rollout IE metrics - to track, validate, calibrate, measure and establish baseline efficiencies by factory.
- Support to develop and launch product wise playbook to drive automation and automation index audit checklist at factory level.
- Publish and communicate automation index report, monitor and review automation improvement progress.
- Partner, coach and challenge vendors’ engineering team to conduct improvement opportunity assessment with aligned target.
- Guide vendor engineering team to deploy kaizen plan/activities by leveraging lean tools, machines and flow to reduce SMV and increase GAP Inc. production efficiency.
- Confirm vendors’ improvement plan on SMV reduction and production efficiency target to be used for cost excellence.
- Able to work collaboratively and communicate with different internal and external stakeholders to identify, drive, monitor and leverage improvement opportunities with sustainable results.
- Develop, train and coach targeted vendors engineers to continuously improve engineering capability with those skill set defined in engineering capability enhancement program.
- Coach, influence, challenge and identify improvement opportunities per collected and analysed fact or data per IE metrics or operational data collected by vendor engineers.
- Leverage best-in-class manufacturing engineering know-how and knowledge through develop and maintain best practice, lean, technology and Industrial engineering.
- Facilitate improvement plan scoping and timeline, align target with vendors, setup governance to review implementation progress and target.
- Overseeing progress of improvement initiatives/kaizens, provide on-the-ground coaching and support with right tools and methodology, leverage knowledge and experience.
- Build cross functional partnerships. Communicate effectively with different stakeholders on purpose, requirements, progress update, escalate and report regular update progress and performance.
- Industrial Engineering Diploma/Degree required with a min 9-12 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Lean, Manufacturing engineering, Project Management and apparel manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge and experience working in apparel industry and GSD certification is a definite advantage.
- Ability to influence and challenge status-quo.
- Must be detailed oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication, project management and analytical skills.
- Ability to coach, drive collaboration and achieve results through engaging team and stakeholders.
- Be open minded, be curious and continual learning capability.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure and to keep composure in stressful situations.
