**POSITION SUMMARY
The Sourcing and Design Engineering Manager is a new position created for the purpose of quoting, negotiating, sourcing, and developing to support the Sourcing, Supplier Quality, and Product Management efforts, working closely with the Quality, Procurement, Product and Supply Chain teams. This position will be responsible for R&D management, Part Design and Modeling, Supplier Quality Management for purchased finished goods as well as raw materials sourced domestically and internationally.

**Essential Functions Statement(s)
• Be able to design and develop CAD and 2D drawings with GD&T for key products in existence or for new products. All designs to be reviewed by the company's R&D and Engineering teams, and Supply Chain teams.
• Develop protocols and procedures as well as lead testing to comply with appropriate testing standards and ability to conduct DFMEA
• Conduct on-site management of process optimization projects at key suppliers
• Liaison for design changes with team members, including quality activities
• Liaison for troubleshooting of packaging materials at the company OEM suppliers
• Work directly with Marketing and Product Management on the artwork design of packaging materials
• Analyze global, regional & local market information to understand upstream cost drivers and the effect on market pricing, including supply and demand dynamics. Generate and maintain various top management flash reports and monthly market overview reports on key commodities.
• Conduct global market research to identify potential new suppliers and products with the goal of identifying new and redundant sources of supply based on competitiveness, capability and business needs. Lead cross functional team to qualify.
• Conduct supplier survey and scorecard measurement process with key suppliers – driving continuous improvement and project savings opportunities.
• Complete Strategic Sourcing Events for assigned commodities and services focusing on Total Cost. Includes but not limited to negotiating price, lead time, Payment Terms, Rebates and delivery.
• Comply with all SOP requirements and approved processes and procedures.
• Work with Procurement/R&D/Quality/Suppliers [as appropriate] to establish documented quality requirements/specs for purchased finished goods and raw materials.
• Support new product launches and effectively lead and interact with cross-functional teams.
• Strong project management skills required.
• Must be able to travel internationally.
• Experience with steel, plastic, and aluminum preferred.
