Job Summary

Our client, a renowned and established FMCG company in Vietnam, is currently seeking a Head of International Business to join their team

Job Responsibilities

This position will spearhead the identification, evaluation, and management of new business opportunities in China and other markets that align with both short- and long-term financial goals. This role involves managing the full cycle of market research, feasibility studies, and partner negotiations, as well as coordinating with cross-functional teams to establish new business in international markets. This position will also be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to increase market share and revenue in the designated region

  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and manage business opportunities that align with the company's financial goals and strategic objectives.
  • Conduct research to identify new international business development opportunities in international markets, this is to include identifying new potential partners or acquisitions overseas
  • Identify new sales leads and potential markets to develop plans and strategies by coordinating with the managers to achieve the sales target
  • Lead Chinese market scans, feasibility studies, and evaluations to provide data-driven insights for decision-making on new ventures.
  • Partner Negotiations: Oversee negotiations with new partners, preparing contracts, and advising on pricing and contract terms to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Regulatory Affairs to launch new businesses in new international markets, enhancing processes to drive efficiency and reduce redundancy.
  • Facilitate effective coordination between overseas teams and head office functional teams, providing timely support to meet business objectives.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly review the performance of teams and identify areas for improvement to enhance overall business effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular business reports to the Board of Directors and management, clearly communicating the progress of monthly and quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Client/Partner Support: Act as a trusted advisor to key partners, customers, and stakeholders, addressing challenging requests or escalations as needed

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 – 10 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 - 5 years in a managerial role
  • Proven track record in international business development within the FMCG industry or related consumer goods sectors. Experience with Chinese market or Cambodia market
  • Background experience working with Instant Noodles products is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of the global FMCG market, including regulatory frameworks, market access, and industry trends
  • Experience in establishing and managing strategic partnerships, distribution networks, and licensing agreements in international markets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of market research methodologies, competitive analysis, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in English. Chinese language is a plus
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

Education requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus
