Our Forensic practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions founded on rigorous science and physics. We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues.

The Role

This position will require the qualified candidate to create technical illustrations and animations of various projects at Thornton Tomasetti. These projects could be located in the United States, Europe or the Pacific Rim. The candidate will be responsible for the entire workflow of a project, importing CAD models and modelling from 2D drawings, sketches and photographs, animation, rendering, compositing and final output for use in reports and PowerPoint presentations. The subject matter will be mostly engineering and architectural in nature and we need someone who can understand the technical aspects and present them in a manner that can be clearly understood. Many techniques may be utilized with a heavy emphasis on 3d modelling and animation. Attention to details, an artistic flair and an inquisitive mind are essential. The main tools used will be 3ds Max & VRay, Adobe PhotoShop and AfterEffects.

Requirements

Essential Skills:

• Excellent presentation and graphic skills.
• Good working knowledge of 3ds Max & VRay and Adobe Photoshop and AfterEffects.
• Ability to understand engineering drawings.
• Good English Skills.
  
  

Optional Skills

• Experience with Architectural modelling for BIM using multiple platforms.
• In addition, experience with any of the following Software Applications would be beneficial: Revit, Rhino, Google Sketchup, and Google Earth.
