Hi there, we're Article. ? We're a North American based furniture company creating remarkably better furniture experiences one sofa at a time. And as the 3D Designer, you'll create high-quality 3D models for furniture and product visualization by converting SolidWorks models and scanned OBJ files into optimized 3ds Max assets.


Why We Need You:

As a 3D Designer, your main tasks will include re-topology, UV mapping, and texturing using Substance Designer. You will also review and improve vendor-created models to ensure they meet our quality standards. There might be occasions that you need to travel within Vietnam to factories for data capture, scanning, or measurements.

CGI enables Article to expand the horizons of the eCommerce shopping experience in many new ways, including augmented reality, product and space configurators, and beyond.

While, we sell to the North American market, we work closely with a number of our manufacturing partners throughout Asia. As a result we have an office in Thao Dien, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where we currently have around 50 Particles (people of Article) working.

As a Particle (people of Article), you will have a high level of autonomy to solve challenging, meaningful problems the best way you can. That means you're trusted to explore solutions you believe will work best (you're the expert, after all). You'll do all this while growing your skills within a company that is redefining the furniture industry.


What You’ll Do:

You'll be part of a team of 10 international marketing professionals working to build the asset library and ensure the accuracy of the product information.

• Convert SolidWorks parts/ assemblies and 3D scanned OBJ files into clean, native 3ds Max models.


• Re-topologize models to create efficient, accurate quad geometry.


• UV unwrap and texture assets using Substance Designer.


• Ensure high accuracy when recreating real-world products in 3D.


• Work within furniture and product visualization pipelines to produce high-quality assets.


• Review vendor-created 3D Solidworks and Scanned Models and ensure they meet quality standards.


• Understanding of photogrammetry techniques when necessary.


• Improve 3D workflows by suggesting better tools or processes.


• Occasionally travel within Vietnam to factories for data collection, scanning, and photography.

Who You Are:

• You have 4+ years of experience in 3D modeling, specializing in 3ds Max and UV mapping in Substance, with a strong understanding of furniture and product visualization.


• You are skilled in product scanning and photogrammetry workflows, bringing real-world objects into the digital space with precision.


• Your expertise in 3ds Max, UV mapping, and texturing in Adobe Substance enables you to create high-quality, photorealistic assets.


• You have a strong portfolio that showcases your ability to create detailed furniture or product 3D models in 3ds Max.


• You understand 3D model pipelines, particularly for furniture and product visualization, ensuring efficient and high-quality asset production.


• You have experience working with SolidWorks models and scanned OBJ files, converting them seamlessly into 3ds Max assets.


• You are familiar with Corona, V-Ray, and Reality Capture software, enhancing your ability to deliver high-quality renders and optimized models.


• If you have experience in architectural visualization, AR/VR, or 3D rendering, that's a plus!


• You are detail-oriented, ensuring your 3D models maintain accuracy and meet high-quality standards.


• You have strong verbal and written communication skills in English, allowing you to collaborate effectively within a team and with external partners.
