Administration
Ensures that an organised, up-to-date filing system (manual and electronic) is maintained for all personnel records.
Ensures all employment practices are in keeping with local legislation.
Ensuring proper documentation for the process of associate work accidents claim.
Liaises with the local Labour authority for all related matters as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
Preparation of turnover and absenteeism reports in a timely manner.
Prepares the Change of Status or Career Profiles for processing.
Financial
Focuses attention on improving productivity levels and the need to prudently manage utility/ payroll costs within acceptable guidelines ensuring optimum deployment and energy efficiency of all equipment.
Ensures Attendance Record check is being carried out according to the Policy and Procedures.
Marketing
Assists the Director of Human Resources with the compilation, implementation and upkeep of the following associate communications
Effectively communicates core values and behavioural standards to all levels of staff.
Operational
In charge for 70% Recruitment and 30% General HR (C&B, Admin, Training)
Assists in checking the food quality and cleanliness of the Associate Restaurant.
Assists by checking to ensure all associate facilities are maintained within standards, i.e. Associate locker rooms, restaurant and smoking area, , associate clinic, First Aid Box.
Assists in the Remuneration Survey within labour market to determine and make recommendations relating to competitive compensation and benefits packaging.
Manages the Human Resources computer systems to effectively manage payroll.
Manages local associate insurance programmes.
Assists in the recruitment process when required.
Prepares the documentation process for visa / residence card / work permit applications for foreign national associates.
Assists with the coordination of the associate recognition programs.
Co-ordinates and arranges Exit Interview, inquiry Meeting for Disciplinary Action Procedures.
Personnel
Establishes and maintains close and professional relationships with management, associates, government officials, local community and academic institutions and hotel schools.
Ensures consistent and fair Grievance handling and Misconduct management providing professional counselling and coaching to correct inappropriate behaviours.
Through hands on management, closely supervises the Personnel Officer / Personnel Assistant in the performance of their duties.
Delegates as appropriate the duties and responsibilities necessary to trained associates who are well equipped and resourced to correctly accomplish these tasks.
Ensures that associates have a complete understanding of the hotel Work Rules and Regulations, and that their behaviour complies. Corrects inappropriate behaviour in accordance with policy.
Monitors associate morale and provides honest performance feedback and development opportunities.
