Role Overview

The role involves validating end-to-end system behavior for integration flows involving APIs and file-based interfaces developed using Dell Boomi, AWS S3, SAP, and other enterprise applications. The candidate will design, execute, and maintain test cases focused on system-level validation and functional conformance of APIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand technical specifications, interface documentation, and field mapping sheets to derive functional test scenarios.
• Design and execute API test cases using Postman, SoapUI, or REST Assured, validating JSON/XML request-response structures.
• Validate API integrations involving Boomi processes, checking transformation logic, event routing, error handling, and response codes.
• Prepare and manage test data (XML, CSV, JSON) for different API scenarios including valid, edge, and negative cases.
• Conduct end-to-end system testing across connected interfaces (e.g., MFT → Boomi → S3 → SAP).
• Perform log analysis, verify Boomi process executions, and validate file generation/storage in AWS S3.
• Work with developers to triage defects and retest fixes.
• Contribute to test documentation: Test Plans, RTM, Daily Execution Reports, and Defect Logs in tools like Jira.
• Automate validation steps where feasible (e.g., comparing Boomi outputs vs. reference files).
  
  

Required Skills & Tools

• Strong experience in API testing – REST/SOAP
• Tools: Postman, SoapUI, REST Assured or similar
• Familiarity with Boomi, AWS S3, SAP interfaces, or MFT/SFTP
• Understanding of system integration testing, mapping validation, and error scenarios
• Basic scripting (Python/Shell) for output file comparison (optional but preferred)
• Defect management using Jira
• Test documentation using Excel, Confluence, or SharePoint
