STEEL BUILDER

• Design and layout of analog circuits based on schematics provided by analog design engineers.
• Ensure that the layouts meet the stringent requirements for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Work closely with design engineers and fabrication teams to optimize circuit layouts for power efficiency, area minimization, and performance.
• Use specialized software to simulate and verify layout performance against expected outcomes.
• Identify potential issues in the designs such as noise, heat dissipation, and interference, and collaborate with design engineers to resolve them.
• Prepare masks for photolithography and assist in the process development stages.
• Document layout processes and results for future reference and compliance with industry standards.

Essential Skills

• Deep technical expertise in analog circuit principles and layout techniques.
• Experience with deep sub-micron technologies and understanding of parasitic effects.
• Ability to perform layout vs. schematic (LVS) checks and post-layout extraction and verification.
• Familiarity with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and Latch-up considerations.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in a specific industry such as automotive, telecommunications, or medical devices, where analog performance is critical.
• Knowledge of mixed-signal layout techniques, allowing for integration of digital and analog components on the same chip.
• Advanced certification in the use of specific design and simulation tools.
• Skills in scripting and automation to improve layout efficiency and accuracy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in analog layout design, with a portfolio of successful projects.
• Proficiency in layout software such as Cadence Virtuoso, Mentor Graphics, or similar.
• Strong understanding of fabrication process limitations and how they influence layout decisions.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and revision.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
