What will you work on?

Manage a team of packaging engineers/officers to carry out new packaging development and improvement works with the aim to meet Quality expectations as well as to achieve optimum materials usage, cube efficiency and packing costs. The role is also responsible to provide packaging related supports to suppliers.

How will you create impact?

• Provide leadership guidance and direction on packaging structural design and/or solutions. Consider materials usage, packaging cube (size) and packing labor contents.
• Manage packaging team resources, workload and activities. Proactively get external helps/supports when required.
• Deliver packaging project at cost, on schedule and with expected Quality standards.
• Work closely with project engineering team leads throughout product development/pilot phases and ensure project start production on time.
• Lead packaging related communication with regional and head office
• Work with printer and manufacturing vendor. Provide production support as required. Coordinate and address related packaging issues between printer and manufacturing vendor.
• Drive packaging productivity and Quality improvement efforts. Strive to achieve best cost benefits.
• Support company sustainability initiatives to reduce plastics usage. Look for environmental-friendly packaging solutions/options when applicable.
• Create, maintain and update packaging data in a timely and accurate manner
• Packaging function budget planning and expenses control
• Training and development of Packaging team
• Carry out other packaging related initiatives and projects assigned by supervisor

What are your skills and experience?

• University graduate in graphic design, printing, media engineering or equivalent
• At least 7-10 years of working experience in packaging structure design and/or packaging printing
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and ArtiosCAD
• Knowledgeable in packaging printing technologies, packaging production and finishing processes
• Familiar with G7 color standards/certification
• Good understanding of paper materials including corrugation types
• Good command of English and communication skill
