THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a leading provider of medical technology and solutions, delivering cutting-edge healthcare innovations across Australia and New Zealand. They empower medical professionals across hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings to deliver world-class care with confidence and precision.To support their growing data initiatives, they are seeking a Senior Data Solutions Engineer to design, develop, and optimize modern data systems and architectures. This is a key role for an experienced data engineer who can build robust pipelines, implement scalable integrations, and contribute to a data-driven culture by enabling high-impact analytics and data products.

Job Description

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes, ensuring efficient movement, transformation, and storage of large data sets. Develop scalable storage solutions such as data lakes and Lakehouse architectures, and create well-structured data models to support business analytics, reporting, and data-driven products.
• Continuously monitor data infrastructure for performance and reliability. Proactively troubleshoot system issues, optimize performance, and ensure all solutions comply with data governance policies, security best practices, and relevant regulatory standards.
• Maintain comprehensive data catalogs, business glossaries, and detailed documentation. Establish and enforce data validation and quality assurance processes to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and readily usable across the organization.
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver customized data solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their growth while promoting best practices. Explore and integrate emerging technologies and tools to enhance the overall data ecosystem.
• Manage service incidents, focusing on minimizing downtime and business impact. Conduct thorough root cause analysis to prevent future issues and lead system improvements aimed at increasing operational efficiency, scalability, and resilience.
• Continuously research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and best practices in the data engineering field to drive innovation, streamline operations, and contribute to the organization’s growth and success.
  
  
  

Skills, Experience, And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or a related field, with over 7 years of experience in data engineering, including designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, and Lakehouse solutions.
• Deep expertise in Python, SQL, cloud data platforms (such as Azure and Microsoft Fabric), and version control tools (including Git and CI/CD pipelines).
• Certifications in data governance or analytics (e.g., DAMA CDMP, Microsoft DP-600) are preferred; experience in machine learning, AI, or advanced data analysis is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, adaptable, and effective at managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
