Position Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Magento / PHP Solution Architect to lead end‑to‑end architecture design for large‑scale commerce modernization initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in Magento, cloud-native architecture, system integration, and scalable system design. You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and enterprise architects to ensure the delivery of robust, future-ready e-commerce solutions.

Requirements

Experience & Education

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Solution Architect or a similar architecture-focused role in commerce systems.
• Preferably holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Prior hands-on background as a Magento / PHP developer before moving into architecture is strongly preferred.

Technical Expertise

• Strong proficiency in architecting and delivering solutions on Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce) with a deep understanding of:
• Module development & customization
• Service contracts, Plugins, Observers
• API & integration patterns
• Catalog, checkout, order, and payment workflows
• Expertise in modernized architecture, including:
• Event-driven architecture (EDA)
• Microservices & modular monolith patterns
• API-driven & headless commerce (GraphQL, REST)
• CQRS, Domain-driven design (DDD) is a plus
• Deep understanding of product & catalog management, transaction processing, and payment ecosystem.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure), SaaS integration, and container-based deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Hands-on experience with integration frameworks, ESB, middleware, and legacy system modernization.
• Proficiency in RDBMS design, caching layers, and performance optimization (Redis, Varnish, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch).
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns, system scalability, security standards, and performance engineering.

Key Responsibilities / Activities

Architecture & Design

• Design and implement end-to-end solution architecture for e-commerce digital transformation and modernization projects.
• Evaluate existing e-commerce systems and propose scalable, secure, and maintainable architecture improvements.
• Define architecture blueprints including data flow, integration diagrams, deployment architecture, and API design.
• Ensure consistency and integrity of architecture across supply chain, warehouse, B2B, B2C, OMS, CRM, and related systems.

Technical Leadership

• Lead solution discussions with business stakeholders, technical leads, and subject matter experts.
• Provide architectural guidance during requirement analysis, solution review, code review, and sprint planning.
• Manage and coordinate technical efforts across multiple teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
• Support development teams in solving complex technical issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration challenges.

Integration & Modernization

• Design integration patterns for third-party services such as payment gateways, ERP, CRM, PIM, marketing automation tools, and logistics systems.
• Drive legacy system modernization through modularization, API abstraction, and phased migration strategies.
• Implement best practices for security, compliance, scalability, and high availability.

Governance & Risk Management

• Establish architecture guidelines, coding standards, and best practices for the development teams.
• Identify technical risks, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Review solution design proposals, technical specifications, and deployment plans to ensure architectural compliance.

Nice to Have

• Adobe Commerce / Magento technical or architect certification (ACE/ACP).
• Experience with MACH principles (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native)
