Definition of the job: The Field Application Engineer (FAE) serves as the technical interface between Premo and its strategic customers. This role supports the sales cycle from opportunity inception through to design-in, prototyping, and initial production, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with product and innovation strategy.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Customer Technical Support
- Act as the technical partner to Key Account Managers (KAMs), supporting customer engagements with deep product and system-level knowledge.
- Participate in early-stage customer discussions to assess technical feasibility and identify design opportunities.
- Translate customer application needs into clear technical requirements for internal teams (R&D, Product Development, Category Leaders).
Prototype & Pre-Sales Activities
- Coordinate and manage the delivery of prototype samples, ensuring timely responses and quality standards.
- Work closely with Sales and R&D to understand customer requirements and provide suitable technical solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and assist customers in selecting and applying company’s power components.
Expertise in Power Electronics & Magnetics
- Serve as the internal and external subject matter expert on Power Electronics circuits (DC-DC, AC-DC, inverter topologies, etc.) and Power Magnetics (Ferrite cores, winding techniques, saturation, losses, etc.).
- Analyze circuit behavior under various load conditions and propose design optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Liaise with Category Leaders and R&D teams to ensure solutions align with technical roadmaps and development capabilities.
- Support problem-solving and root cause analysis for field issues, escalations, and application failures.
Technical Training & Mentoring
- Provide technical training and documentation to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Organize technical seminars or workshops, especially around Power Magnetics applications.
Feedback to R&D
- Gather field performance data and application challenges to propose product improvement or new development ideas.
- Collaborate with R&D to support prototype evaluations and validations in customer environments.
- Follow up with prototype development until completion, ensuring that technical specifications, timelines, and application requirements are met.
Marketing & Brand Promotion
- Represent the company at trade shows, technical conferences, and customer workshops to promote the technology portfolio and support branding efforts.
