The goal of Damen Song Cam is to develop, design and construct a portfolio of tugboats, and high-speed crafts in the most effective and efficient manner. Primarily based on standardized & smart-customized designs. Damen Song Cam is fulfilling current and developing market demands, with well-balanced levels of quality, service, price, and delivery time; thereby providing optimal solutions for our clients. Our vessels are produced at our yards in Hoang Lam ward, Thuy Nguyen City, Hai Phong, Vietnam as well as in other countries such as Singapore, China, Turkey and The Netherlands.

Damen Services South East Asia hub is responsible for Region and commercially performing a wide range of service activities, including warranty, service, repair and maintenance work on delivered ships and installations/vessels during (new) construction and the delivery of components. The sale of parts, the provision of information and technical training and the sale of equipment for ships also fall under the “services‟ work area.

The role

As a Delivery support engineer within Damen Services South East Asia, you support our Deliveries department at Damen headquarters in the Netherlands with the organization and preparations of Own Keel and Heavy Lift deliveries, which will be executed from building yards Damen Shipyards Song Cam to our clients, anywhere in the world.

You maintain contact with various stakeholders, such as suppliers, project management in Vietnam and the Netherlands, customers representatives, customs authorities and port agents in order to organize a smooth and cost efficient preparation & departure of the vessel.

As an ambassador of our delivery department, you are connecting the dots, keep local knowledge about port regulations up to date and accompany the delivery crew during the days before departure.

You are responsible for managing and maintaining Services assets (cradles, delivery packages), which are critical for these operations.

Key accountabilities

As an Delivery Engineer your tasks are the following:

• Supporting the delivery department in the Netherlands
• Acting as local knowledge center and providing input & support for the delivery department
• Managing and maintaining Services assets at Damen Services South East Asia
• Accompanies and supporting crews during their days before departure or surveyors in case of Heavy Lift transport
• Managing and maintaining Services assets (cradles, delivery packages,…)
• Reporting to Deliveries department Netherlands about all related activities
  
  

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you should have:

• Knowledge of and experience within Damen Shipyards Song Cam;
• Knowledge of and experience within Damen Shipyards Song Cam;
• Nautical, technical and seamanship experience;
• A pro-active attitude;
• You are an excellent communicator, both to yard staff, headquarters staff and to customers;
• You are an excellent planner, good at organizing things and keeping the overview. You are so to say the ideal organizer and fixer;
• You are able to manage expectations, and not afraid to present it to all stakeholders;
• A good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
