- The Retail Operations & Project Manager is responsible for overseeing boutique operations and ensuring a superior client experience while maintaining the brand's high image standards. This role involves proposing and implementing new business solutions that enhance and modernize retail policies and processes. The ideal candidate for this role should be detail-oriented, collaborative, and innovative in their approach. They work closely with the regional Retail Fashion team to ensure global alignment and coordinate with other teams, such as Technology & Digital Solutions, to drive inventory to boutiques.
- The Retail Operations & Project Manager is responsible for managing operational manpower, overseeing inventory management, and implementing strategies to drive operational efficiency and productivity. They also partner with ODHR and the Learning & Development team to provide operational training and development to boutiques. By ensuring clear communication and collaboration, the Retail Operations & Project Manager helps maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of retail operations and aligns boutique performance with broader organizational goals.
Retail Operations Excellence and Governance:
- Oversee the Assistant Retail Operations Manager/Operations & Project Manager ensuring that boutiques maintain operational procedures and compliance, streamlining and utilizing the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and sharing it with all members.
- Collaborate with other corporate functions to update and implement the SOP and plan regular training sessions with the Assistant Retail Operations Manager/Operations & Project Manager in BTQ.
- Always look for best practices and apply them based on boutique specifications to improve inventory management and develop or redesign the process and SOP.
- Oversee inventory management in BTQ, monitoring stock management to prevent loss and reduce damages,
- Constantly review all processes and procedures to reduce complexity and improve productivity at boutique levels, work with local teams and operational functional experts to create, plan, test, and continuously improve processes, and share best practices and collaborate with regional Retail Fashion in globalizing successful initiatives.
- Work closely with the General manager/Senior Retail manager and the regional Retail Operations & Project Manager to ensure alignment of initiatives, propose new ideas and suggest new business solutions for both short and long-term, follow-up implementation of new initiatives and/or projects, and coordinate and follow the regional Retail strategy.
- Generate a high level of collaboration and communication with all regional departments, take over some ad-hoc projects proposed by the General manager/Senior Retail manager, and maintain retail compliance, asset protection, and occupational safety within the boutique team.
- Dedicate time to working with the team on Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, and Sustainability awareness through company and boutique initiatives.
- Oversee the maintenance of the boutique (monthly checklist) with the help of maintenance executive.
- Lead market and boutique-level projects to improve operational efficiency and enhance employee experience while ensuring that the Assistant Retail Project Manager/Operations & Project Manager can act as a change agent in the boutique for effective project implementation.
- Manage multiple projects and balance priorities and conflicts between them while mitigating risks across several projects and escalating them when necessary.
- Engage and build a community in each supporting role by leading and conducting a regular community workshop/training, leveraging best practices in the market.
- Develop strategies to elevate Client experience and services within the operations scope while collaborating with the Client Care and the After Sales Services team to improve customer service, create a more engaging in-store experience, and leverage data analytics to understand client behavior and optimize Client In-Store Journey
- Lead the team to implement relevant operations projects and tools at the boutique level.
- Forms close partnerships with boutiques and relevant corporate divisions (IT, Finance, Logistics, Communications)
- Works closely with the Fashion & WFJ divisions, VM, Marketing, Product, and Training)
- At least 8 years of experience in retail management or operations, with a preference for experience in the fashion retail industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the key systems and technologies used in in-store operations and customer service, including but not limited to point-of-sale, rostering, and WMS.
- Ability to bridge the gap between business users and internal or third-party developers in terms of technology.
- Proficiency in retail management software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- An advantage of this position is having a background in luxury retail.
