About Us

Damen Song Cam Shipyard is a production facility delivering various Damen ship types. Basic designs and main components are delivered to DSCS by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem. DSCS will provide the detailed engineering, and information for the supply chain and production.

The technical department consists of six departments: Project Management, Production support, Supply chain, Stock management, Quality Control and Maintenance and Facility. The technical department is primarily responsible for all support activities securing the timely delivery of information and facilities for an undisturbed and efficient production of high-quality vessels.

Production support team assist Work preparation in implementing standard configurations for material management, develop building strategies and add -ins to information packages for production. Assist production by issuing solutions for technical conflicts on board of the vessel. Develop work instructions for various topics and Labor classes.

The role

Provide the initial input of project to portfolio planner, work preparation of project. Continue to support production for technical issue during building phase, provide the input and together with engineering to develop the design, detail engineering package of project.

The project is not only building ship project but also Yard support project for internal job of the shipyard.

Key accountabilities

• Provide initial info of project
• Building strategy
• Making work instructions, build up work instruction library for yard
• Review and making docking support drawing packages
• Calculating paint areas on vessels
• Demarcation on spool list
• To provide engineering information to production (pipe support (Sys.341), floor area, insulation area, …)
• Support and solving technical issue during building
• Making modification sheet/sketch (if needed for specific Yn)
• Follow up to provide information for production (DWG package status, procedure, manual
• Copper pipe support (System 341-Add clamp and make Axo DWG)
• Solving technical issue due to mistake of engineering, production condition and others
• Making small/quick Sketch/drawing which is not done by Engineering (PM request or specific situation onboard). Feedback to DSCS Engineering of sketch/drawing
• Provide the input and together with engineering to develop the design/ detail engineering packages
• Follow up feedback from production relate to Engineering on SNAGR/ Create PFL form if needed
• Making modification sheet/sketch and provide info to engineering
• Production template
• Understand about production template
• Together with Work Preparation + Planning team to develop production template for specific ship types
• Instruction project
• Responsible of: create instruction, update and maintain the instruction project where contain the instruction of ship types
  
  

Skills & Experience

• Education: : Qualification in Shipbuilding Engineering/ Naval Architecture/ mechanical/ Electrical or equivalent.
• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in technical field. Experience in shipbuilding is an advantage
• English: Good written and verbal English
