Senior Kotlin/Android Developer

About the Role: 

FPT Software’s AI Center is seeking an Application Developer to join our AI4Code Team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining JetBrains plugins that integrate AI-powered coding assistance into IntelliJ-based IDEs. We welcome candidates with Android development experience using Java, even if they are new to JetBrains plugin development. This is a great opportunity for experienced Android developers looking to transition into IntelliJ plugin development while working on cutting-edge AI-powered developer tools. 

Responsibilities 

·       Develop and maintain JetBrains plugins that bring AI-powered features into IntelliJ-based IDEs.  

·       Leverage Android development expertise to design and implement structured, scalable, and maintainable plugin architectures. 

·       Use Java and Kotlin to build JetBrains plugins, integrating them seamlessly with AI-driven backend services. 

·       Work with Jetpack Compose UI libraries and JetBrains APIs to create intuitive and responsive user experiences. 

·       Collaborate with UX designers, backend engineers, and AI researchers to refine plugin features and improve usability. 

·       Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards. 

·       Optimize plugin performance for fast loading times and smooth user interactions. 

·       Troubleshoot and resolve plugin issues reported by users or testers. 

Minimum Requirements 

·       Proven experience in Android development using Java. 

·       Familiarity with MVVM - Clean Architecture for structured and maintainable code. 

·       Experience in UI/UX development using Android UI frameworks (Jetpack Compose is a plus). 

·       Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

·       Strong communication and collaboration skills. 

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required but a Plus) 

·       Experience with Kotlin for Android or JetBrains plugin development. 

·       Familiarity with JetBrains Platform APIs and IntelliJ plugin development. 

·       Knowledge of Jetpack Compose UI and JetBrains UI framework. 

·       Understanding of AI-powered coding assistants and LLM integration. 

·       Experience with desktop or mobile application development beyond Android.
