About the Role

We are seeking a high-profile Data Science/ AI Manager to be a leader of our newly formed data platform team. This data platform team is part of a larger Digital Transformation center and works closely with an in-house team of business experts and functions across OCB. The data platform team oversees the design and development of our analytics infrastructure and systems to enable AI, automation, and innovative analytics. This person’s efforts will focus on developing our advanced algorithms to make proven business impacts and developing any tools or processes required to do so.

The Data Science/ AI Manager will work as a functional manager in a matrix-organized team to provide technical leadership and strategic guidance to the data science/ AI team, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and adherence to best practices. His/her expertise in managing data-driven business purposes, developing complex algorithms, managing data-monetization funnels and people operations will be crucial in driving the organization's data strategy and enabling data-driven decision-making. He/she is also responsible for leading the development and launch of advanced algorithms. This role will require a strong understanding of mathematics complexity, data technology, and business strategy. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams to bring data-driven products to market.

What You Will Do

• Work with the Director of Data Platform and Data Product Manager/ Analytics Architect to identify business architecture key points and convert them into an analytics map that drives business value.
• In charge of a Data Science team to optimize the business funnels with advanced algorithms.
• In charge of the key analytics technology. (feature stores, MLOps, A/B Testing)
• Work with Analytics Architect and the Digital Transformation team to optimize engagement channels by data algorithms.
• Give guidelines to DS/ AI teams to implement needed features and tools.
• Work with Analytics Architect to launch and measure the success of new products, gather feedback from stakeholders, and automate the optimization.
• Stay up to date on analytics trends.

Who You Are

• Master’s or PhD degree in quantitative finance (preferrable) or data science from a high-profile overseas university. (prefer candidates with 3.8/4.0 GPA or above)
• Extremely in-depth knowledge about all the following advanced algorithms: Neural Networks (RNN, FNN, CNN), Natural Language Processing (LLMs, Google Bert), Supervised Learning (Decision Trees, SVM, Naive Bayes, knn), Unsupervised Learning (k-means, Hierarchical, Gaussian, Hidden Markov), Statistics (Probability, Regression, Logistic), Mathematical Economics (Elasticity, Supply and Demand from different regressions). We want a person to know the exact root cause of the algorithms, not someone who randomly applies them.
• 6+ years of experience in analytics algorithms, with 4+ years being a manager.
• A strong understanding of business architecture in analytics is a must (preferrable banking or e-commerce).
• Fluently in the following technologies is a must: 1 of any SQL (queries and optimization), Kafka, Spark, Delta Lake, 2 of the following programming languages (Java, Scala, Python, or R), all of the following data science framework (Torch, Tensorflow, Bert, Keras, Scikit-learn, Sstropy).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Very fluent English (TOEIC > 930 or IELTS > 7.5)
