As a Senior Frontend Engineer within the Platform teams, you will lead the design and development of high-performance, scalable, and AI-first user interfaces that power Sun Group’s E-Commerce and Digital Experience platforms.

You will work on large-scale, data-intensive web applications serving millions of users and transactions across travel, hospitality, real estate, aviation, and entertainment. Your role goes beyond UI implementation — you will shape frontend architecture, engineering standards, and user experience strategies, while ensuring seamless integration with backend microservices and AI-powered systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable frontend applications for Sun Group’s platform ecosystem, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and reliability at scale.
• Translate UI/UX designs, wireframes, and product requirements into high-quality, maintainable, and production-grade web applications.
• Architect and build reusable UI components, shared libraries, and design systems to ensure consistency across multiple platforms and business domains.
• Develop and operate complex frontend systems including public-facing platforms and internal B2B/B2E portals.
• Integrate seamlessly with backend microservices and AI-powered services via REST/gRPC APIs; handle async flows, error states, retries, and graceful degradation.
• Optimize frontend performance for high-traffic environments (bundle size, rendering efficiency, caching strategies, performance budgets).
• Implement secure authentication and authorization flows (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT) in collaboration with backend teams.
• Establish and enforce frontend coding standards, best practices, and tooling.
• Mentor and develop junior frontend engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance.
• Apply Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices including automated testing, monitoring, and continuous delivery.
• Contribute to technical design discussions, architecture decisions, and engineering best practices across the Platform teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
• 5+ years of professional frontend development experience in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one modern framework: React, Vue, or Angular.
• Solid foundation in HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience building large-scale, high-traffic web applications with complex state and data flows.
• Hands-on experience integrating with REST/gRPC APIs, handling async workflows and error states.
• Familiar with frontend architecture, state management (Redux, Zustand, Vuex, NgRx), and reusable component design.
• Experience with modern build tools (Vite, Webpack), Git, and frontend performance optimization.
• Knowledge of testing, CI/CD, security, and accessibility best practices is a plus.
• Exposure to cloud environments, micro-frontend, or AI/data-intensive platforms is an advantage.
