SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION & DESIGN

POSITION SUMMARY

The Multimedia Designer will be responsible for developing professional quality design concepts and producing related design applications in various platforms to support the School of Communication & Design’s objectives for visual identity in events, exhibitions, and communication. The position requires knowledge and skills in graphic design (2D - 3D), event production, video production, and website design.

The position will collaborate closely with the SCD's Digital Communication and Event Coordinators and RMIT Marketing team to ensure that all content developed conforms to the RMIT Brand Identity and ensure maximum visibility of the School internally and externally.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Study design briefs, determine requirements; research and conceptualise the visuals and their mock-ups based on project briefs to present to project leaders.
  • Develop and amend designs in various platforms to ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
  • Coordinate in promoting RMIT’s and SCD’s brand and corporate visual identity, ensuring all SCD Services publications conform to the RMIT Brand Identity.
  • Collaborate with the SCD Digital Communication, Events & Exhibitions staff, RMIT Marketing team and other stakeholders to produce design solutions to target audiences.
  • Coordinate the production of printed collaterals and/or design projects to ensure delivery is on time and within budget.
  • Perform general quality assurance for visual impact and contents of SCD projects.
  • Create templates and guideline that support the correct application of brand elements across all communications and promotional campaigns within the School.
  • Coordinate key images to ensure brand attributes are communicated effectively within the constraints of the RMIT Brand.
  • Liaise with SCD Digital Communication Coordinator to organise and manage SCD media-related database.
  • Other tasks as directed by the Events and Exhibitions Manager.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant design discipline:
  • At least 2 years of experience coordinating the production and design of a range of marketing materials, including printed and digital.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing print design, event production, video production, web design and other online marketing materials.
  • Substantial experience leading the implementation of cutting-edge integrated marketing communications and creative web and graphic design consistent with re-branding and corporate guidelines with major software programs for Macintosh computers (MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite incorporating Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Adobe Premiere and Acrobat).
  • Extensive knowledge in graphic and web design with strong abilities to develop successful campaign concepts that represent RMIT brand values and creative outlook.
  • Independent learning and working attitude in handling print projects and assisting in web and publication execution.
  • Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position, as per the RMIT Behavioural Capability Framework (Connectedness, Commitment to Excellence – Improve and Simplify; Imagination and Innovation; Impact; Inclusion; Agility).

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (General) score of at least 5.5 (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).
