The incumbent shall be part of a team controlling materials, components, assemblies and finished products manufactured or purchased by the Rheem Vietnam operations, and be primarily responsible for:
• Overall control of benchmarking and product design for "new markets".
• Providing product design engineering support in order to reduce manufacturing costs, to increase manufacturing capacity, and to provide product reliability, quality and performance.
• Develop Concept Plans, preliminary models/drawings for new R&D projects.
• Provide detailed engineering designs for new products and modifications to existing products.
• Preparation and maintenance of Design Control Documentation, including
o Technical Specifications for product and components
o Drawings
o Bill of Materials and ERP establishment for new or modified product
o Failure Mode Effects Analysis, FMEA, especially FMEA.
o Manage the CI-PCR Product Change Request register.
• Analyzing, problem solving of 4M Continuous Improvement programs related to product design.
• Manage in 'Cost Down' projects.
• Providing technical advice and support to other departments/personnel.
• Assistance to sales and marketing in the draft and maintenance of product manuals, installation instructions and data sheets.
Product Specification & Certification
• Develop product specifications to meet specific market needs as defined by the relevant marketplace.
• Manage product development projects, including
o Developing project plans.
o Ensuring milestones are achieved;
o Ensuring compliance with product and market specification;
o Supporting the approvals process for certification compliance of new product;
o Liaising with department heads regarding the introduction of new products or product modifications being implemented to production .

Experience from developing and implementing programs with identifiable results using some of the following:
• Ability to fluently communicate, speak and write English.
• 6 years minimum experience in the design of appliances or related manufacturing, mechanical equipment assembly.
• Manufacturing or HVAC / Heat pump Qualification is an advantage
• Experience in 3D CAD design, Inventor is an advantage.
• Problem solving and understanding of "Cause and Effect"
• Competency in Project Planning
• Strong planning, organizing and interpersonal skills.
• An ability to manage and complete complex product design projects.
• An ability to work on multiple projects within tight timeframes.
• An ability to work and achieve results within a team environment.
• Sound people management, team facilitation, conflict resolution and communication skills
• Minimum 2 years experience with and understanding of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Excellent communication skills.
• An interest in developing & implementing organization development and culture change programs.
• A strong ability to relate to all levels from shop floor to senior management.
• Trained and experienced in using and understanding statistical measures to reduce process variations within a manufacturing environment.
• Well developed computer skills (specifically Microsoft Office)
• A strong commitment to OHS and environmental compliance in the workplace.
