YOUR TASKS
DHL Customers
- Provide professional security and support in resolving shipment related queries
- Co ordinate and conduct customer tours of facilities to highlight the level of security invested in by DHL.
- Ensure all Country and Hub/Gateway security policies are compatible and standardised.
- Conduct ongoing review of process and infrastructure to ensure all security risks are minimised.
- Source appropriate security vendors with respect to the purchase of security equipment
- Monitor and audit the security services provided and maintain a monthly performance report
- Establish professional liaison to ensure strong links are maintained between DHL and such authorities.
- Enlist the support of all DHL staff to ensure that DHL’s environment is safe and secure
- Ensure all changes in regulations, procedures, requirements, policies and personnel which relate to security issues in Hub, Gateway and any DHL servicing points are updated.
- Liaise closely with local, regional and global team members to ensure a cohesive and effective security strategy.
- Assist and support in all security matters related to cargo screening
- Provide regular updates on security issues
- Provide a periodic security update and by this ensure representation of specific country's need in the regional plans and initiatives
- Ensure compliance to regional security policies and procedures
- Carry out audits and initiate corrective action required in order to maintain the maximum security level in the Hub, Gateway Service Centers and Retails points/outlets.
- Maintain TAPA “A or B” standard security accreditation
- Ensure compliance with aviation and cargo security regulations
- Develop and implement specialist training for cargo security screening
- Monitor implementation of security training programs in particular, CIS Security Awareness training program in the country
- Regularly review existing manuals and propose appropriate changes/amendments to support current security needs
- Develop, implement and monitor policies, procedures and security practices to safeguard DHL employees, customers’ shipments, DHL assets and information against loss, damage or incident.
- Co-ordinate Hub security activities and ensure compliance of DHL staff and sub-contractors with security procedures as specified in the Regional Security Policy and Procedures Manual.
- Conduct security audits (and assist other audit teams e.g. GSOP), both proactively and reactively to assess the effectiveness of security practices and procedures at the Hub.
- Co-ordinate the implementation of stipulated and other relevant Security training programmes for Hub personnel and in particular DHL specific training programmes such as SAFE.
- Ensure regular maintenance of equipment to guarantee 100% operational effectiveness 24 x 7 / 365.
- Ensure compliance to Regionally accredited industry bodies such as TAPA where possible and/or required.
- Initiate, co-ordinate and conduct security related investigations such as losses and other security incidents relating to DHL assets, personnel and shipments carried by DHL. Ensure that all incidents or losses are thoroughly and professionally investigated, that the causes are identified and that the appropriate measures are taken to minimize and prevent re-occurrence, ensure that any resources available to DHL in terms of assets or shipment recovery are utilized and that legal action is initiated where appropriate.
- Develop and maintain extensive internal contacts within DHL as security of the shipment in DHL custody is an end-to-end process
- Provide input and participate in the reporting of security incidents into the database
- Prepare and analyse the database information for the production of regular reports on shipment and other security incidents, including Dangerous Goods. Where appropriate, recommend and initiate actions to investigate and resolve significant security incidents as they occur
- 3-5 years in a Security Supervisor position
- Good acknowledge of setting up security systems: CCTV, Access control, Intrusion Alarm, Fire fighting system
- Experience in security Standards such as TAPA, CTPAT, and ISO.
- Experience in managing security service providers.
- Experience in managing compliance issues, regulatory reviews, permit preparation, reporting, and record keeping
- Set up and operation of fire fighting system
- Ability to effectively communicate with facility and corporate personnel
- Possess professional written / verbal communication skills to include technical reports and group presentations
