The Business School
The Business School is the largest School in RMIT Vietnam with approximately eight thousand students on two campuses (Ho Chi Minh Saigon South and Hanoi). The school has three departments, 130 academic staff, four research fellows and 25 Professional staff. In terms of programs there are four bachelor programs, two PGCert programs, two Master programs and two PhD programs. Each department has one program and the fourth program has nine majors supported across the departments. The school is one of five schools of the RMIT College of Business and Law, Melbourne.
There are six research clusters in the school, three hubs and a forward plan will seek to conflate this structure to a Digital technologies centre and sustainability cluster, with Tourism and Hospitality spanning both domains. The expertise and research foci of the school are blockchain, cryptocurrencies, cybersecurity, smart cities, sustainability, and these contribute to the four RMIT pillars for research.
Recent growth areas have been in research and corporate education (AACSB accreditation is expected in 2024). Staff are currently transitioning into semester teaching whilst the school maintains three intakes and delivery. A new workload allocation framework is now applied to accommodate these developments.
Position Summary
The Lecturer Law is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the University, in disciplines related to their field of expertise. Specifically, the Lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate, Masters and Graduate Diploma programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. The Lecturer is also expected to actively promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. The Lecturer is expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the teaching team, and update colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation. The Lecturer may be responsible for course coordination.

Our Requirements
- PhD in Law or equivalent relevant Doctoral qualification.
- Strong interdisciplinary research and teaching background particularly in relation to the intersection of law and emerging technologies such as Blockchain, AI, and Big Data.
- Proven experience in teaching various aspects including contract law, tort law, consumer protection law, as well as company and finance law
- Emerging/Established track record and recognition for quality research outputs
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery and, the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials
- Demonstrated experience or ability to undertake course coordination role.
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration within and across campuses;
- Ability to build or demonstrate ability to build, successful networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.
- Recent and sustained performance regarding student outcomes, student experience and feedback; combined with experience and skill in a range of teaching settings.
- Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position as per the RMIT Values (Inclusion, Imagination, Agility, Courage, Passion and Impact).
To be considered for a position at RMIT Vietnam in The Business School, you will need to be able to meet the following research criteria.
- For candidates with a PhD awarded more than 5 years ago: you will be expected to demonstrate a minimum of 2 peer reviewed journal articles, of which must be ranked in Scimago or ABDC and preferably both in Q1/A ranking or equivalent.
- For candidates with a PhD awarded within the last 3- 5 years although there are no requirements of peer reviewed journal articles for publication, you need to be research active in relevant research areas.
- For candidates with a PhD awarded within the last 3 years, although there are no requirements you are expected to be research active.
- As an expatriate candidate you will require a work permit to be employed in Vietnam. To qualify for a work permit you will need a PhD qualification and you will need to be able to demonstrate at least 3 years of teaching across relevant subjects in a tertiary education environment.
- English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS Academic 7.0 and with no band less than 6.5 (or equivalent)

Thành lập năm 2011, Trường Đại học Mỹ thuật Công nghiệp Á Châu (tiền thân của Trường Đại học CMC) là một trong hai trường đại học trong cả nước chuyên đào tạo cử nhân mỹ thuật công nghiệp hệ chính quy. Năm 2021, Trường đã có bước phát triển đột phá khi tiếp nhận đầu tư chiến lược từ Tập đoàn Công nghệ CMC. Căn cứ Quyết định số 895/QĐ-TTg của Thủ tướng Chính phủ, Trường Đại học Mỹ thuật Công nghiệp Á Châu chính thức đổi tên thành Trường Đại học CMC kể từ ngày 26/07/2022.
Là một thành viên thuộc Khối Giáo dục và Nghiên cứu của Tập đoàn Công nghệ CMC, Trường Đại học CMC được định hướng phát triển từ “Đại học thông minh, đổi mới sáng tạo” trong giai đoạn 2022 – 2032, tới “Đại học nghiên cứu” (World class university) sau năm 2032. Mục tiêu hàng đầu của Nhà trường là trở thành một Đại học công nghệ với các lĩnh vực đào tạo thế mạnh là Khoa học máy tính, hệ thống thông tin, điện tử – viễn thông và các lĩnh vực khác gắn với yêu cầu phát triển khoa học công nghệ và kinh tế số của cả nước, với quy mô cỡ trung từ 20 đến 30 nghìn sinh viên vào năm 2039.
