The goal of Damen Song Cam is to develop, design and construct a portfolio of tugboats, and high-speed crafts in the most effective and efficient manner. Primarily based on standardized & smart-customized designs. Our vessels are produced at our yards in Hoang Lam 1 Zone, Thien Huong Ward, Hai Phong City, Vietnam as well as in other countries such as Singapore, China, Turkey and The Netherlands.

The role

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Business Analyst – Operations to strengthen data-driven decision making across our Operations functions.

In this role, you will work closely with middle management and leadership teams across Logistics, Production, Production Planning & Control (PP&C), and Supply Chain to study, cleanse, structure, and analyze operational data.

This position goes beyond pure data analysis — you will develop a deep understanding of operational processes and how data reflects real business performance, helping the organization improve transparency, efficiency, and decision quality.

Key Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst – Operations, your tasks are the following:

• Business & Process Understanding:
• Partner with department leaders to understand core operational processes, system flows, and cross-functional interfaces;
• Map and document key data touchpoints across Operations;
• Develop a strong end-to-end view of operational workflows.
• Data Quality & Structuring:
• Identify data inconsistencies, structural gaps, and process-related data issues;
• Perform data extraction, cleansing, and validation from multiple sources;
• Standardize datasets to ensure reliability and usability.
• Analysis & Insight Generation:
• Translate operational questions into structured analytical approaches;
• Generate meaningful insights to support managerial decision making;
• Conduct root-cause analysis on operational performance issues;
• Support continuous improvement initiatives with data-backed recommendations.
• Reporting & Visualization:
• Prepare clear analytical summaries and visualizations for middle management and leadership discussions;
• Build structured datasets ready for handover to the BI team for dashboard/report development;
• Ensure consistency between operational reality and reported data.
• Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with Operations teams and the BI function;
• Support data governance and data discipline within Operations;
• Facilitate alignment between business users and technical teams.
  
  

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you bring:

• Education
  
  

Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Business Administration, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering or related fields.

• Experience
• 2–5 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, process analysis or related roles.
• Experience working with operational data is strongly preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing or shipbuilding environments is an advantage.
• Technical Skills
• Strong data analysis skills (Excel advanced required).
• Experience with Power BI, SQL, or similar tools is a strong plus.
• Good understanding of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, IFS) is preferred.
• Ability to structure messy data into meaningful datasets.
• Soft Skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking mindset.
• Curious and eager to understand how operations really work.
• Clear communicator with the ability to explain data to non-technical - stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented yet able to see the big picture.
• Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented.
