Job context

Damen Song Cam Shipyard Co., Ltd is a joint venture between Damen Shipyards Group in the Netherlands (70%) and Song Cam Shipyard (30%), member of SBIC and based in Haiphong, Vietnam. At a 42 hectares site just outside Haiphong, Damen Song Cam is a strategic and preferred production location within the Damen Shipyards Group to produce tugboats and work-boats. At the moment, the shipyard is a dedicated outfitting shipyard, outfitting, commissioning and delivering approx. 40 vessels per year to clients worldwide. At a later stage Damen Song Cam will further increase its production facilities to deliver approx. 80 vessels a year and will start to produce some of the hulls which are currently sub-contracted to other yards.

Damen Song Cam Engineering (DSCS-E) Department is responsible for providing detailed engineering and standards services for all Damen projects and delivering high quality production information and support to shipyards worldwide, in time and within budget.

The Engineering Departments consists of two main Groups: DSCS Team and Team Specials.

The DSCS Team is responsible to engineer and assist the Damen Song Cam Shipyard in building efficiently Damen’s Standard products, while the Team Specials is assigned to execute One-Off, First of Series and Special projects.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

Participation in basic design and development of complete detailed engineering packages for new and standard vessels and floating structures within project plans, according to technical specifications, Class and governmental regulations, Damen standards and building yard requirements under guidance and with using basic decisions or prototype as incoming data.

Development of 3D Model of the piping systems and equipment

• 3D Model of equipment items

Development of Production information drawings

• ISO &Spool drawings
• Combination drawings
• AXO view drawings
• Penetration drawings
• Material reports
• Performance of calculations (when applicable)
• Performs weight estimation under guidance.
• Participates in calculation of MTO (material take-off)
  
  

Other activities

• Constantly perfects knowledge and skills on specialty.
• Participates actively in trainings of new-comers.
• Performs planned tasks strictly within the budget and in specified terms.
• Provides report on performed tasks according to applicable instructions.
• Carries out designer supervision and, if necessary, technical support on a shipyard, works in the office of the Client.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Higher education technical
• Qualification in Mechanical/Marine Engineering
• Good written and verbal English
  
  

Experience

• More than 01 year of experience in Engineering
