The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to guide our engineering team within the Flights OTA domain. As the Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical strategy, leading key initiatives, and fostering a high-performing, collaborative team environment. You will oversee the architecture of complex systems, ensure reliability and scalability, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality user experiences.

What you will be working on:

You will lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, shape system architecture, manage production APIs, improve team productivity, and ensure implementation of best practices for application security and data compliance. This role includes collaboration with Product, UX, Data, and other teams to drive major initiatives and evaluate new technologies.

Core Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor an engineering team, fostering a collaborative and psychologically safe environment.
• System Architecture: Shape complex system architectures, with hands-on involvement in design and coding.
• Reliability & Scalability: Own production APIs and services, focusing on scalability and reliability.
• Team Productivity: Improve team productivity through coaching, facilitation, and regular 1:1s.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product, UX, Data, and other teams to deliver high-impact initiatives.
• Technology Evaluation: Stay updated on industry trends and assess new technologies for potential adoption.
• Hiring & Growth: Participate in hiring to build and grow a high-performing engineering team.
  
  

Skills and experience:

Minimum Experience:

• 7+ years in software engineering with expertise in backend or frontend development.
• Proven technical leadership skills and experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), and database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra).
• Strong experience in CI/CD practices and familiarity with Java, Go, or modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
• Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Strong understanding of system architecture, scalability, and reliability.

• Experience in the OTA industry or related travel domain.
• Ability to support and mentor engineers while managing stakeholder expectations.
• Emphasis on frequent, high-quality releases with short feedback loops.
• Excellent communication skills, including active listening, facilitation, and coaching.
