We are seeking an Investment Principal to play a senior, high-ownership role within the firm's investment function. This role is designed for an experienced investor with strong judgement who can lead deals end-to-end, from sourcing through investment committee and closing to portfolio support, while acting as a trusted partner to the General Partners.

Description

As an Investment Principal, you will independently originate and lead investments (with GP sponsorship), shape investment committee discussions through high-signal analysis and clear conviction and serve as a key point of continuity for founder relationships over time. You will also manage and develop junior investors, setting the bar for decision quality, pace, and rigor across the investment team. This is a hands-on investing role with real accountability for outcomes, meaningful influence on firm-level decisions, and direct exposure to founders, co-investors, and LPs.

Upon Joining, You

• Quickly establish credibility as a high-judgement investor
• Originate quality opportunities, kill weak deals early, and earn trust through clarity and follow-through

• Consistently lead deals through IC and closing with clear ownership of sourcing, diligence, and conviction
• Produce IC materials that are crisp, decision-ready, and trusted
• Are experienced by founders as direct, high-integrity, and long-term oriented

• Are recognized as a senior investment leader at the firm
• Shape pipeline quality and mentor junior investors
• Strengthen the firm's position in the Vietnam and Southeast Asia tech ecosystem
• Contribute meaningfully to portfolio performance and exit outcomes
  
  

Key Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing & Origination

• Originate high-quality investment opportunities through founder networks, ecosystem relationships, and proactive thematic sourcing
• Build and maintain deep relationships with founders, operators, and co-investors across Vietnam and Southeast Asia
• Maintain a high bar for pipeline quality over volume
  
  

Deal Evaluation & Investment Committee Leadership

• Lead deals end-to-end through evaluation, diligence, IC, and closing
• Exercise strong judgement in founder assessment and upside potential
• Kill weak or misaligned opportunities early and clearly
• Produce IC materials that are concise, honest, and decision-oriented
• Shape IC discussions through clarity of thinking and conviction
  
  

Portfolio Engagement

• Serve as a long-term partner to portfolio founders on strategy, hiring, fundraising, and critical decisions
• Represent the firm professionally in board meetings or observer roles, where applicable
• Identify follow-on and exit opportunities in partnership with founders and GPs
  
  

Team Leadership & Firm Building

• Manage and mentor Investment Associates, coaching judgement, rigor, and pace
• Set standards for sourcing discipline, diligence quality, and decision-making
• Contribute to the firm's external presence through events, ecosystem engagement, and thought leadership
  
  

Profile

Candidate Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of experience in venture capital, growth investing, startups, or closely related fields
• Demonstrated experience leading deals end-to-end with strong judgement and conviction
• Strong founder evaluation skills and pattern recognition
• Experience managing and developing junior team members
• Deep familiarity with the Vietnam and/or Southeast Asia tech ecosystem (or the ability to build it quickly)
• Clear, structured communicator in English
• High integrity, strong ownership mindset, and bias toward action
