I. Job Purpose:
- To be responsible for the management, development, delivery the merchandise strategy and category management concepts to subordinates, maximize category sales, profit, trading income generation, stock, and support stores to achieve best operating results.
II. Job Accountabilities:
2.1. Strategic:
- Implement the merchandise, buying and pricing strategies for categories, in line with the agreed company vision and mission
- To increase category penetration, trade up customers, develop competitive edges and to capitalize market opportunities
- Keep abreast of the retail environment by paying regular visits to stores, to competitors and also internationally and initiate appropriate decisions /actions to ensure competitive advantage is maintained. Develop new product and service concepts to lead the growth of the Company
2.2 Sales and Profit
- Strengthen sales performance by monitoring and analysic salesto identify areas of improvement
- Manage margin and pricing to maximize category profits and ensure the price competitive
- Negotiate the best terms with suppliers to maximize trading income and gain benefit for company
- Build and mantain good business relationships with vendors
2.3 Stock
- Manage stock levels and mark downs to ensure that product availability is high yet ensure that cash flows and profits are maximized by controlling stock levels within set targets
- Establish and maintain effective SKU control and tail management
2.4 Customer Focus
- Work closely with all related departments to roll-out and evaluate merchandising activities which are customer focused in offering interesting and innovative promotional activities and events to increase sales, profits and foot- traffic
- Continuously review the product category mix to fit with customers’ needs
- Lead the category in charge to develop appropriate CRM strategies to improve customers' loyalty and to maximize promotion returns
2.5 People:
- Develop and train subordinates to strengthen the team.
- Build an effective and open working relationship both within the Merchandising Department and with other Departments
2.6. Central Administration
- Merchandize System Compliance/ Standard Operating Procedure (SOP): maintenance and enhancement
- Analyze current operating procedures for job relevance, as well as the potential for technological advancements for productivity enhancement and aiming at reducing lawsuits, employee or system errors
2.7. Vendor Compliance/ Vendor Performance
- Streamline and standardize the internal procedures and supplier compliance for dealing with vendors
- Associate consumer data to category management (Category performance, Nielsen Operating Statistics)
III. Key Job Description:
- Develop and implement category strategy and plan to achieve sales and profit targets
- Negotiate with suppliers on trading terms, marketing activation and trading income and maintain good business relationship with suppliers
- Do market research and analyze consumer trends, competitors to identify opportunities and adjust category strategies accordingly
- Analyze sales data and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven recommendation
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure alignment with sales forecasts, working closely with the supply chain team to have sufficient stock level
- Create promotional plans to drive category sales
- Coordinate effectively and support to cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of category strategy and related task
- Other tasks are as assigned by Line Manager
Yêu Cầu Công Việc
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is preferred
- Minimum 6-8 years’ working experience in Retail merchandising and at least 2 year at the same position
- Good at English and computer skills
- Quick learning, willing to take up challenges
- Outstanding communication skills
- Able to work independently, possess a high level of responsibility and commitment
- Strong at Leadership and team work skills
