JOB SUMMARY
Provide leadership and supervision in the project engineering team and facilities maintenance team in support of the engineering department and company goals. Develop personnel, processes, and procedures, and provide the necessary technical expertise to complete construction and facility improvement projects; safely, on time, as specified, and under budget.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Manage the activities of the construction projects while fully utilizing the support of all other departments to meet company objectives. Also building and training a facilities maintenance team to cover HVAC, facilities, restrooms, etc. Direct the activities of onsite construction personnel to meet company objectives. Responsible for constructing high quality facility projects for a predetermined price within budgetary and time constraints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing and managing renovation projects, upgrades, equipment additions and supervising and ensuring third parties are complying with agreed terms and material specs.
- Communicate with A & E firms, construction companies, government officials, etc.
- Solicits, bids, and negotiates with contractors for repairs, replacements, and maintenance services in the following areas: electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, fire protection, structural, cleaning and sanitation, to obtain the most advantageous price, terms, discount allowances, quality, delivery, and service.
- Keep the facilities team focused on reducing costs, improving working environments, and ensuing the team is working with integrity.
- Assists in obtaining necessary permits, approvals, and licenses as they pertain to land acquisition, business establishment, and construction.
- Studies job specifications to plan and approve construction of project according to owner specifications.
- Formulates reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, and scheduling.
- Compiles data and writes reports regarding existing and potential engineering studies and projects.
- Monitors and controls constructing of high-quality facility projects for a predetermined price within budgetary and time constraints.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- May require a bachelor’s degree in Maintenance/Construction related field. Masters or MBA is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 5-year experience managing a Construction/Facility Engineering.
- Proven track record of success measured by increased responsibility and attainment of prescribed objectives.
Knowledge of:
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of factory buildings, dormitory buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- AutoCAD knowledge and experience with the ability to produce quality and detailed drawings.
- Management best practices.
