ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking passionate, results focused Lead/Senior ReactJS Engineers - you will work as part of our Innovation Engineering team who help bring these new innovation topics to life in order to test our key hypotheses, across exciting topics such as generativeAI, climate innovation, digital assets, open banking and new forms of payments. This primarily involves building small scale, time bound production incubations, leveraging many of NAB’s existing technology components.

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Collaborate with other NAB’s technology leaders towards improving and fulfilling the NAB technical direction;
2. Evangelize and promote JavaScript – ReactJS best practices;
3. Be passionate about JavaScript – ReactJS, understand how to implement advancement for existing or new systems;
4. Lead and conduct training to empower engineers regarding sufficient programming skills (for Lead)
5. Design, develop, review, implement, and manage ReactJS application code and services for the production and pre-release environments;
6. Design, develop, review, implement, and manage continuous integration, build management and deployment scripts, systems, and any code as required;
7. Participate in Agile software development, prototyping, and code review with international development teams to build scalable Microservices-based products
8. Provide robust coding practices, solid unit/component test coverage, and debugging code.
9. Freedom to make architectural and code-level decisions about the component you are working on. High level solution architecture decisions will be provided.
10. Peer reviews of others code, and the ability to recommend changes and challenge decisions

Must-have

1. 5 years’ + experience (Senior level) or 7 years+ experience (Lead level) working in Software Development: Solid experience in JavaScript ES6/TypeScript working with React.js or similar technologies (Angular.js, Vue.js);
2. Expert in all areas of web development (HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Foundation, JQuery, JSON) including accessibility and security concerns;
3. Ability to build BFF components (NodeJS)
4. Solid experience in modern front-end build pipelines and tools (e.g. Git, Webpack, Gulp, NPM);
5. Experience in Cloud computing and Amazon Web Services – particularly Serverless Development. Experience in Containers (ECS, Kubernetes, Docker) and FaaS (AWS Lambda) technologies;
6. Strong understanding of RESTful APIs design (GraphQL desirable) and Microservices-based system;
7. Solid DevOps and Continuous Delivery skillset. Experience in modern CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g. Git, Ansible, Jenkins, Gulp, NPM, Gradle).
8. Solid experience in Agile development environments;
9. Well-versed in writing structured, well-documented, maintainable, and clean code;
10. Excellent in problem-solving and analytical skills;
11. Experience in leading and coaching at least one software engineer team on various projects;
12. Strong understanding of standard Software Engineering processes, Testing, and Agile methodology;
13. Strong English communication skills (both verbal & written), especially in the global software development environment.

Nice-to-have

1. Experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry;
2. Experience in using front-end testing and test runners (eg. Selenium, Mocha/Chai/Jest).
3. Any additional certification or training in IT, Business, Computer Science, or related area.
