Get to Know the Team

1. Clickstream Intelligence Platform (Scribe) is Grab's in-house app instrumentation and insights platform that captures and analyzes user clickstream activity across all Grab apps. It supports observability, real-time personalization, and business analytics by processing tens of billions of events per hour at a petabyte scale. The platform is built on a high-throughput backend leveraging event gateways, Kafka, Flink, and Spark pipelines, along with in-house tooling for schema validation and instrumentation testing to ensure high-quality data at source.
2. Customer Data Platform (CDP) enables Grab Teams to onboard and register Grab's customer data and make it available for Online Serving, ML Models, Segmentation, and real-time targeting to power personalization use cases across the company. Our platform is leveraged across many mission-critical Grab services such as app personalization, experimentation, ad serving, and marketing.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for a Technical Lead for either the Scribe or CDP team that has a strong breadth of a wide range of technical stacks

• Web Portal: [protected info] and Golang Backend.
• Online Serving: Golang Backend, AWS infrastructure, MySQL, Redis, AWS Dynamo DB, Scylla DB.
• Data Processing / Storage: Apache Flink, Apache Spark, Trino, StarRocks, Hive, Delta Lake.
• Applied AI / ML: LLM, Python Backend, Vector DB.

The role will report to the Engineering Manager in Singapore and work onsite at the Grab Vietnam office (CMC CREATIVE SPACE, D.7, HCMC).

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Building platform capabilities to facilitate the scalable onboarding of user data that can be easily reused across the company.
• Improving the serving capabilities of CDP's user data.
• Building out scalable real-time data pipelines and architecture that is cost-efficient, while enabling non-technical teams to leverage these real-time capabilities.
• Leading and mentoring an engineering team with diverse technical stacks.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related undergraduate degree.
• You have 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering with experience leading an engineering team with diverse skillsets.
• Proficient in at least one of the following: Python, Go, or Scala, and a strong appetite to learn other programming languages.
• Experience building software leveraging AI / ML to drive business impact or outcomes.
• Experience developing large-scale backend systems and has a good understanding of technical trade-offs and evaluations needed to enable high load, low latency systems, while maintaining system reliability and cost efficiency.
• Good understanding of data modelling (i.e., fact vs dimension data).
• Strong English communications with prior work experience in a regional & global environment

Desirable Experience:

• Experience with data processing technologies such as Apache Flink (for real-time processing) and Apache Spark (for batch processing).
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools and good understanding of AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
