Job context

Damen Song Cam Shipyard is a joint venture between Damen Shipyards Group in the Netherlands and Song Cam Shipyard, based in Haiphong, Vietnam. The shipyard is a strategic and preferred production location within the Damen Shipyards Group, producing tugboats and workboats. Currently, the shipyard outfits, commissions, and delivers approximately 40 vessels per year to clients worldwide. In the future, Damen Song Cam will increase its production facilities to deliver approximately 80 vessels a year and will start to produce some of the hulls that are currently sub-contracted to other yards.

Purpose and Scope of the job

Training Specialist is responsible for identifying training needs, designing and delivering training programs, and evaluating their effectiveness. He/ she creates teaching plans, contribute to develop instructional materials, and ensure employees’ growth aligns with company goals. He/ she has expertise in instructional design, learning principles, and talent management.

Key Responsibilities

• Identifying Training Needs
• In corporation with department managers, evaluate strengths and weaknesses of employees to determine training requirements.
• Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in knowledge and skills.
• Designing Training Programs
• Develop curriculum and instructional materials tailored to the organization’s needs.
• Create engaging and effective training sessions, including e-learning courses, workshops, and onboarding programs.
• Conducting Training Sessions
• Deliver training programs to employees at all levels.
• Use various training methods and technologies to facilitate learning.
• Evaluating Training Effectiveness
• Assess the impact of training programs through feedback and performance monitoring.
• Make necessary adjustments to improve training strategies and outcomes.
• Continuous Learning and Development
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in employee development.
• Commit to ongoing education and professional development to enhance training methods.
• Internal training group leading
• Form and lead the internal training group.
• Other tasks
• As required by manager
  
  

Education

• Bachelor degree in related field (human resource, education, business, communication,…)
• Proficiency in MS Office and content management system or e-learning software
• Competent English communication
  
  

Experience

• Proven experience in designing multiple training events in a corporate setting
• Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles
  
  

Experience in conducting cost-benefit analysis
