Job Description

Your Mission

The Game Designer role plays a crucial part in maximizing our user participation and stickiness to our Craftland world, by building new maps, game modes on our Craftland environment. The position will be in charge of quality of maps and games created by our development team. You will be entrusted with handling end-to-end responsibilities from game conceptualization to development, and explore innovative and complex gameplay style, thereby broadening our PGC game maps and building up new exciting modes.

Your Quest

Game Design

• Working with the team to conceptualize, design, and develop engaging game experiences on our platform.
• Work closely with developers, artists, and other designers to brainstorm and create innovative game concepts.
• Develop comprehensive game design documents that outline game mechanics, storylines, and user experiences.
• Design and prototype game mechanics, levels, and features, creating wireframes, storyboards, and prototypes to visualize game concepts.
• Conduct playtests and gather feedback to refine game design and enhance player engagement.
  
  

Performance Optimization

• Optimize game design for performance and player retention, providing regular updates and improvements exclusively for the games you are working on.
• Analyze player data and key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Retention 2, Retention 7 to make informed design decisions within the scope of these games.
• Continuously iterate on game features and mechanics to enhance user experience and retention rates in the games you are working on.
• Conduct regular reporting on performance improvements and their impact on player retention metrics.
• Stay updated on new trends and technologies in game optimization.

Job Requirements

Your Stats

• A deep love for gaming with passion about creating engaging and immersive gaming experiences is a must.
• Having a Bachelor's degree from reputable university of Multimedia, Computer Science, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Digital Arts, or Media and Communication.
• At least 3-year experience with proven record in game development, with a strong portfolio of published games. Having experience in designing games for UGC platforms: Roblox, Mini World, Blockman GO, etc is a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of game design principles, including game mechanics, level design, and player engagement.
• Experience with game engines: Unity, Cocos2dx, Unreal Engine, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of shooting game mechanics, including weapon design, character skill, and map design. With experience with 2D/3D design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, Maya, or similar is a plus
• Familiarity with key game performance indicators (KPIs) such as Retention 2, Retention 7, DAU, MAU, and ARPU. Experience with game design documentation and prototyping.
• Strong communication skills in both Vietnamese & English to effectively convey design concepts and ideas to cross-functional and cross regional teams. Able to communicate in Chinese is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to feedback and iterate on designs quickly. Able to deliver under pressure and adapt to constantly changing priorities.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, is committed to delivering high-quality gaming experiences to our users.
