Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Project Manager to lead the development of a new garment factory in Vietnam. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of the project, from initial planning through to final completion. The Project Manager will ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while also adhering to local regulations and industry best practices.
The Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of developing a garment factory in Vietnam, from conducting investment surveys and acquiring necessary licenses, to managing construction and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This role also includes designing a suitable organizational structure and coordinating with internal departments to build a highly effective management team for the factory.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Planning and Management:
o Conduct investment condition surveys and oversee the acquisition of IRC and ERC; other needed certificates
o Develop and manage the overall project plan, schedule, and budget for the garment factory construction.
o Collaborate with construction team to ensure the factory is built to specifications and within budget.
o Manage the project timeline, ensuring each phase progresses smoothly
o Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that align with business objectives.
o Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs, ensuring approval from stakeholders.
• Organizational Design and Team Building:
o Design an appropriate organizational structure to ensure effective management of the factory.
o Coordinate with internal departments to form a well-balanced management team that can oversee factory operations.
o Define roles and responsibilities for team members, ensuring alignment with project and operational goals.
• Team Supervision and Development:
o Supervise all team members and develop procedures and policies that ensure operational efficiency.
o Serve as a mentor, advisor, and resource to staff members, ensuring they stay informed about new industry practices.
o Participate in interviews and recruitment of new employees.
o Take on front office duties when required to maintain direct oversight of key operations.
• External Affairs:
o Act as the point of contact for external affairs, working closely with local authorities to ensure compliance with all regulations and legal requirements.
• Financial Oversight:
o Work closely with the Director and Finance team to develop, implement, and monitor capital and operational budgets.
o Ensure that resources are allocated efficiently to meet project and operational goals.
• Risk Management and Problem Solving:
o Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
o Handle project issues and troubleshoot any challenges that arise during the construction process.
o Monitor project risks and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Reporting and Documentation:
o Prepare and present project progress reports to Project Development Director and owner; documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and reports.
o Ensure proper documentation of permits, contracts, and regulatory approvals.
• Financial Oversight:
o Monitor and control project expenses to stay within the approved budget.
o Review and approve contractor invoices and work orders.
o Provide financial forecasts and cash flow projections.
