General Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Cluster School Director (ECSD), the Cambridge Cluster Head is responsible for:

  • Coordinate and oversee the Teaching and Learning activities of the Cambridge Department across assigned campuses to ensure curriculum objectives are met.
  • Ensure consistent administration and management of Cambridge Programmes, including teacher observation, student assessment, testing procedures, grading, and reporting.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of all Cambridge teachers at designated campuses to meet expected performance standards.
  • Collaborate with the Central Academic Department to plan and order necessary resources for curriculum delivery.
  • Work with the Central Academic Department to review frameworks, policies, procedures, practices, curriculum content, and recommend improvements.
  • Be responsible for the academic performance of all faculties at designated campuses, including Checkpoint and CEP benchmark tests.

Teaching & Learning

  • Lead teachers in their subjects, providing a model for high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Stay informed about new developments in content and teaching styles, including technology use.
  • Monitor and evaluate schemes of work.
  • Engage teaching staff in creating, implementing, and improving schemes of work.
  • Ensure adherence to the agreed syllabus/specifications by all teaching staff.
  • Implement and apply appropriate examinations or assessments; ensure they align with school-wide frameworks and marking standards.
  • Work with the Central Head of ECA Programme to organize extra-curricular and educational enhancement activities.
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to teaching staff, recognizing good practices and supporting their progress.
  • Evaluate the impact of improvement strategies on teaching and learning, providing quality assurance.
  • Take up to 25% sub-teaching load as needed.

Responsibilities To Students & Parents

  • Provide parents with clear and accurate information about their child's progress; develop a supportive relationship with parents in line with the school's Vision and Mission Statement and regularly report on student development.
  • Support the optimal development of all students according to curriculum outcomes; develop strategies to assist weaker students.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions of students between educational stages and programmes at designated campuses.

Staffing

  • Ensure teaching staff understand policies on homework, assessment, materials use, student discipline, etc.
  • Effectively induct new teachers and assistants, familiarizing them with all policies.
  • Collaborate with the Group Curriculum Coordinator/Central Academic Department to plan teacher training and professional development activities.
  • Conduct professional appraisals of teachers following system-wide policies and KPIs.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers, managing disciplinary measures where appropriate.
  • Participate in the selection and recruitment of teaching staff at designated campuses.
  • Plan and conduct regular teachers' meetings with agendas, meeting minutes, and follow-up actions.

Other duties

  • Organise and execute parents/teacher meetings, school trips, sporting events, graduation ceremonies, and other events as assigned.
  • Represent designated campuses at public and promotional events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the ECSD.

Your background and experience

This is a certified leadership position that requires you to have a recognised qualification in educational leadership such as a Bachelors or Masters in Educational Leadership.

This position is not open to candidates without the above qualification.

Furthermore, We Are Looking For Candidates Who

  • Have proven success in educational leadership across multiple campuses in a UK Curriculum school with at least 5-years' directly relevant experience.
  • Have previous leadership and management experience within South East Asia (preferred).
  • Have knowledge and understanding of current developments in all aspects of Cambridge Curriculum from K-12.
  • Have an ability to work hard under pressure and as a positive team member; ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; commitment to continuous improvement and development.
  • Show a willingness to embrace our VAS core values.
  • Recognises the value of learning beyond the classroom in enhancing the understanding and experience of the world in which we live.
  • Is a proven leader within their own role and team player, with a ‘can do’ solution-focused attitude in all aspects of the role.
  • Possesses outstanding communication skills and personal integrity, with an ability to think strategically in a wider context.
  • Can commit to a 2-year contract.
